Medicinal cannabis is legal Australia wide and more patients are beginning to travel interstate. In the very early stages of legalisation, most medical cannabis products were oil-based. Now doctors are prescribing flower/bud based medicinal cannabis more frequently.

It would be really cool (even an idea for an ABC segment) to have a patient with prescription travel around Australia domestically, with all paperwork and a lawyer/solicitor on stand-by to document the process. I imagine the sooner security and law enforcement start bumping shoulders with these situations, the sooner it will become normalised and potentially a part of their training (if it isn't already).

I don't see why we can't just have a license card to carry with us instead of hauling around large containers with a sticker on it.

I don't see why we have to jump through hoops for these crooks? Half the anxiety wouldn't exist if the government wasn't out to steal our money left right and centre. Brainwashed idiots everywhere.

I don't know if it is still relevant but I have just ridden my motorcycle across and up and then back down Australia all the while using my medical cannabis. Stored only in its jar with my prescription clearly affixed to the label. To add I store my MC in sealed proof container. I have a TGA requested log book and use only when I have stopped traveling for the day. I fill my TGA requested log book in and do not drive. I will note here that a doctor has agreed with me and Tomas Arkell that 240-300 mins post ingestion of my Cannabis has deemed me fit to drive. Now I am a West Australian and I just beat a charge of presents of THC by the prosecution discontinuing the charge against me because I was following my doctors advice. I could prove the medicine was legitimate for me to use, good luck too anybody who beats this charge with illicit cannabis. I hope my experiences help in this discussion

Just did over Easter with my weed, dynavap and induction coil in my hand luggage. no one even asked to look. On the way back we were so early, we ate breakfast and then I went back outside to the DoSA and ripped off a few vapes in front of the AFP, and back through X-ray again.. Good times..

Thanks because getting it prescribed was half the battle. Traveling, smoking in public or transport is another thing that's blurry at best to understand.

It is very clear, vape your MC in designated smoking areas warn people of what you are doing and the risks to their jobs if drug testing is carried out at their place of employment. If you have a prescription you can use in the same place smoker's of cigarettes go usually outdoors. If it helps

I’m flying on Thursday, I have called JetStar 4 times and received 3 different answers I have been prescribed dried flower, Ayala taking 10 grams with me, along with my script and TGA approval Let’s see how I go.... tell you the truth, I’m a bit nervous 😬 Thanks, your information is very much appreciated

Don't worry about what Jetstar says. We've just travelled interstate with both oil and flower on Jetstar with no issues. We've also seen quite a few other people in the community talking about travel and no one has had any issues. Make sure you have all the info on your scripts and you'll be fine. Great video, thank you for the information. I also wonder what the rules are around driving, I understand you can’t be under the influence behind the wheel, however, the effects of THC lasts up to 6hrs but can show up on a roadside test for up to 24 - 48hrs after consumption.

In Qld anything used to consume marijuana is illegal, such as a pipe or a bong, or a vapouriser, it's not possible to even buy them. if prescribed marijuana are these devices legal? smoking a joint sounds unhealthy

Thanks for the comment. We cannot tell you the legalities for sure as we are not lawyers. That said, when a medical professional prescribes you medicinal cannabis it's a legal medication. There are a couple of TGA approved vaporizers (medical devices) as well - so it's hard to believe that those medical devices wouldn't be legal. We'd suggest you talk to your prescribing health professional and if prescribed a flower product, make sure they also get a TGA approval for the device you will use to consume that medication. @@LaserSharkPhotoablations in all states if you use a vape or a pipe to smoke black market(not medicinal) weed, then the device becomes illegal, what is different in Qld is that a pipe or vape meant for consumption of flower is illegal even if not used at all. The TGA approved vapes the Dr was showing in other videos would be legal, but so expensive. Did you go through honahlee Tim No complaints?

@@IDKOKIDK ..genuinely... please show me anywhere in any docs or website or video you have found reference to an actual tga approved cannabis vaporiser? I find only talk about tga approved nicotine vaping. I have tried to buy a ”tga approved" vape and failed. I use a dynavap and coil heater. Both my Drs (yes I have 2) say my delivery system is part of my treatment/prescription. Not through honalee

Why would cannabis users have to be “discreet” about using cannabis in public when cigarettes smokers have no concerns about using nicotine in public ? Nobody seems to care about people drinking alcohol in public and alcohol is the most damaging drug in this country.

@@murrijuana2842 true, but what about all the areas outside pubs on the footpath where people are permitted to drink or any major sporting or public event. So it’s more that state sanctioned public drinking is ok but not ok for those who need to use cannabis in public for medication. 🤷🏻‍♂️
