I’m constantly amazed watching your supermarket videos. I’m in Townsville Queensland Australia and our shelves are so poorly stocked and everytime i go shopping there are so many products “currently unavailable” and prices have increased. We constantly have shortages. And then I look At the Russian supermarkets supposedly suffering under “western sanctions” and their supermarkets are incredibly well stocked with a ridiculously larger variety of goods at ridiculously cheaper prices. A real eye opener. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻😁

It wasn't always like that. I remember the 90s with hopeless poverty and angry people who didn't care about cleanliness. With an increase in the standard of living, people began to pay attention to their living space, began to take care of them. I remember those distant times when it was normal for me to throw out a cigarette butt right on the sidewalk, now I put it in my pocket and carry it to the nearest trash can - it's a shame to litter. It's not out of fear of the police or anything else, it's cleanliness and respect for other people's work.

At last we have seen the supermarkets that the average worker can afford to shop in. Here in the UK as said we have Aldi and Lidl and a few smaller ones that allow us to make ends meet. More and more people are now having to shop there, the big four supermarkets have become very expensive unless you only buy the cheaper own branded items, and even they are not cheap these days. The sanctions by the west have backfired, as the stores in Russia have good stocks at far lower prices.

The amazing thing about Chizhik is also that most products there are made with GOST standard - a state standard of quality of products. That usually means that the quality is really good. A lot of products in Russia are made with TU or STU standards nowadays - they are usually a lot worse, because there is little to no penalty for manufacturer if it's uneatable and TU can be changed for everything however manufacturer wants. While GOST is always controlled and very strict.

For example, chicken eggs have become twice as expensive - about 105 rubles - a little more than 1 US dollar for 10 pieces (similar situation with the price of bananas, dairy products and many other products).
