Had an original version back in 2010 when they first cane out. Little advice follow the gearing chart in the book for best results. You run the risk of burning up the esc if you don't. Best speeds and power I achieved was with a 3s lipo and the and Castles mamba micro pro ecs but once again gearing is key. Almost lost my whole truck when the ecs went up in flames. Best solution I have found so far is running the Traxxas Velineon 3500 Brushless Motor (3500Kv) on the stock ecs. This seems to have cut down the over heating issues and gained torque at the same time. Never got a top speed before I had an untimely collision with a stop sign that wiped out the entire front end and chassis.

I have one of those! The Mini revo SMOKES on two 3s lipo with series connector. Im glad it has TSM. I put a second servo on and it helped a lot!

I run a pair of 2s in series on mine and have been since i bought it new which was 13 years ago. still running stock motor, esc and drive train.

Hey on the body clips give them up completely on the mini e revo put some sticky Velcro or hook and loop tape on the battery openings and the bottom of the body. I removed the body mounts completely and I love it. Thanks

Just got my second battery and series connector for my 1/16 slash Mark Jenkins... Have new wheels and Velineon motor/esc on, can't wait to try it.

Velcro good substitute for body clips on 1/16. Right on side of battery doors.

I retrained them before. I charged them and used them for a few minutes, then I forced them to charge again. They get up to about 8.39 volts and then slowly lose power as they run.

in case anyone wondering 2s lipo is slower than NiMH in series, 2s lipo only 8.4 volts fully charged and the NiMH in series is 18 volts fully charged, the first pass or 2 with the NiMH should be faster than the 3s lipo but drops right away where the 3s lipo is about the same throughout and has more punch. The high speed pinion is actually slower as well as its only meant to be used to keep the electronics cooler using the higher voltage of the NiMH in series. If not doing speed runs, 2s lipo is plenty for offroading, plus will break less lol, Sounded like he stripped the diffs which its also recommended to shim the diffs. especially with the torque running 3s lipo has. Fun to drive none the less but id pick up a slash over this. Breaks too much 😂

Those nim packs may be toast if you don't constantly give them some charge every couple weeks they self drain fast and if they are not maintained properly and left without charging the voltage of the cells goes so low that when you try recharging them they don't work good no more because the cell voltage most likely got so low they reversed and then the packs toast when that happens.

I did not know you could use the new ID connectors wiry the old trx. This is gonna save me from switching the one on my esc after buying a new set of nimh batteries and them being the newer id batteries.

Did you have to put the pinion gears for both Lipo and nimh batteries?and if so do you recommend me putting two or one 2s lipo battery in mine? It’s still stock I haven’t upgraded it yet I still have the stock pinion gear and everything is stock. What do you recommend me to do?

Hi, I also have one of these one 3s and one original battery.Do u really have to push that button when changing from nimh to Lipo? Why is that and what happens if u dont change that setting because I had no idea about this before watching this video. Anyways good video!

Yes im going to be Driving my Truck hopefully with out ANY hassles from Anybody and can't Afford to break it or fix it know howv to fix. Some parts but not All Already put$300 Dollars in up grades into it the pieces in there where i replaced and it works fine just 1 more upgrade on the Truck. And thats it 4000kv Motor and 11.1 Lipo Battery and speed Controller which i think comes with the New Engine?

I’ve got a single 2s 1500 mah Lipo only getting around 5 min on brushless. Is this normal battery life for this thing or are my batteries just bad?

How long does the 2s 2000mah last?

Hi good test. I think there is something wrong with your 6S NiMH’s. In series they should have a nominal charge of 14.4v (freshly charged maybe +18v). The 3S should only have a nominal charge of 11.1v (charged 12.6v). So even though the 3S would have more punch, and maybe more amps because of the c-rating, and hold it’s volt better, in the first minute the NiMHs should outperform your 3S.

I just got a Traxxas E-Revo VXL and the 1200mAh battery lasted me about 20mins. I used it in 35° weather. The car suddenly started to struggle and it went through my neighbor's grass. I thought the motor stopped but the battery died lol. So much fun. I need more batteries now hahaha
