Is it safe to use a deans to traxxas adapter for my batteries in a Maxx. I have lots of 4S deans batteries and have the adapters but am worried at this voltage things will get too hot ?

Traxxas isn’t trying monopolize but they mixed the wires for their balance lead. Hmm makes sense but not really.

The JST connector didn't have little plastic tabs you could lift up so you could slide out the wire and put in different spot?

Dude, no. They could have included the normal balance plug as well so we don't have to use a damn traxxas charger to charge them. This was all about money.

You can charge them with a standard charger, you can find plenty of charging leads on ebay. I do it with a traxxas 3s that I've had for a while now.

Stating that a company, like traxxas did not make this plug in order to make money is either demonstrating ignorance or that one is paid. This was done to make more revenue period, and bring safer was a bonus.

LMAO and there is the problem with consumers their ignorance. You can't say "period" and then add another comment. Knowing RC and other hobby companies they made a product that was safer and because there wasn't or isn't a competitor with that type of product they are able to charge more. Its along the same line as purchasing a product for support or quality. Get you head out of rear end and stop thinking everyone is out to get you.

Can you show us how to make an adapter so I can trick the id charger into thinking an after market battery is a real id battery? I need to start the Traxxas charger with an app on my phone when using after maker batteries with the jst connector (basically the opposite of the adapters that are out there)

Hi so I see how you have made the female to connect to the Traxxas charger with the balance leads all in one which was nice. Is there a male connector where I could do the same. I have a lipo charger where I need the balance board and the charging lead. It would be awesome to plug my banana connectors in and my balance connectors into the charger and having an all in one on the other end to plug a converted all in one battery into, Traxxas, or Venom etc.

So I'm heading to my local hobby store because I just got my jato all rebuilt I push the button on my easy start and I already popped the whole assembly I just assembled inside the motor what a bummer day but you know what you always talk about sometimes you have bummer days because parts and so forth well at least I know got it night time after struggling with getting my nitro to run I can always look for it's one of your videos and watch you Bass thank you for your entertainment hope all works out great today my day is not over yet going to get the new parts and rip it apart another 3.3

Heck yeah.... the lows in rc pass quickly. Just know, these problems you are having, ALL RC enthusiast went through at a time. That reminds me. I should do a vlog on my very first race engine. I still have the pieces of it. It will make you laugh... HAHAHA!

Love the channel, great vid, and can't believe you never used flux b4, but I guess It proves flux really is not a must then cause you been doing it for a long time...I actually like all Traxxas products, I use there batteries and charges....why not?

Lost any credibility with the comment that they didn't do this for proprietary reasons. Wasn't this right after a legal battle over the last Traxxas connectors when they released the iD connectors?

Hey Mark, love your videos, i thought to give something back. If you didn’t know, flux can cause corrosion over time on solder joints, so make sure to use something like a Fluxoff to remove any flux residue after soldering! Solder has flux in it but not a lot. Hope it helps! Thanks for the nice videos. Also you are one of the main influencers that got me into RC 1/8 racing with Tekno... Cheers from Wales UK!

Sooo, I hope you can help me.. I recently bought 2 gen ace 7500mah 100c batteries for my 8s xmaxx. I have always used Traxxas batteries and only have Traxxas chargers. The gen ace batteries I soldered the Traxxas id plugs on gen ace bats, but the balancing wire off the battery is a 5-pin I need to plug into the Traxxas balancing port that is 4 pin. Can I get an adapter & if so is that the lil jobber your showing here?

Why would you do that? If you want to use them with the stock esc connectors just solder on the old TRX connector and keep the normal balance plug.

@@ChuckTownRC51 I just purchased the upgraded Traxxas charger with the 5pin balance port instead. Definitely cost more money, but feel it was the right way to go. And I can do all my batteries on it. Thank you for finally responding to me. I see your a busy guy.. I'm a rook..

So why does Traxxas have their balance wires in a different order? Their ID chargers have normal-ordered balance connectors (for other non-Traxxas batteries), so I don't understand this...

I have a traxxas rustler could I buy a connector for the car to use my2s lipo battery instead of cut the wire on the car because I got the charge and battery that came with the car but I got alot of lipo battery and smart charger. and what the connector call that on the Traxxas car. Because I don't no what to get the female or the male could u help me out please

I run a 2s 6200mah 40C Chinese lipo in my 2wd slash with a 31 tooth pinion and a 76 tooh gear. I even run it in the grass and i never puffed the lipo.🤔

Agreed, any brand specific connector is useless. Best to choose one good quality connector you can buy for a reasonable price and stick to it. Plus Traxxas batteries aren't very good, you can do much better for the price. Horizon is guilty of this as well, in fact they've taken it one step further by having moldings in the chassis to hold only their plugs. I used to use XT-90s for my 10th and 8th scale rigs but then I switched to XT-150s because I can easily use my 10th scale lipos in my 8th scale by connecting them in series.

I actually cannibalized a Traxxas Battery just to get the 2s ID Connector to use for a charger adaptor sucks you cant but the Female ID connector any longer... anyone want a Traxxas 2s 5800 LiPo battery with NO connector and very short wires???

I really like the Traxxas batteries and charger and have had very good luck with them in my TRX4, but now that I’m getting a non Traxxas RC, I wish I would’ve went with XT60 from the start because now I have to do a bunch of crap with wiring and adapters. The ID connectors are for sure to try and keep you with Traxxas RCs and it’s proved by them not selling the ID connectors. I love my Traxxas products, but shame on you Traxxas. Atleast sell the connectors.
