3s lipo on that 18 pinion will make it hot enough to cook 5 meals for 5 families lol. I got 2s for it and 2s is perfect for everything really. Its a monster on a carper track though. Going to one today and testing the 2s. Great video.

Thank you for an honest review not everyone wants to spend hundred's of dollars to destroy it at a skate park but do want to know if it's a good track truck and can handle the knocks

Nice thing about these traxxas cars is that you can switch to a center diff if you want and sway bar kits.

Great review. I'd only get one due the 4wd and increased bans of Nitros out here (noise)... Otherwise, I still love my Nitrosport (now modded to a Rustler).

Thanks got a slash for my son looking now for me. But after this another slash looks like the right one for me better control. The slash running on 2 s and hitting 42 mph did some up grades landscaping now straight at full speed. He will want to race me . So thanks to this vid I know the Rustler is not my truck. Keep up the good work

Great vid. From your driving clips it din't look like you had the TSM on. I would've helped. ;D Also hen the car hits the camera my ears start burning, it's a sudden spike in volume. XD

Fred The Flippin' Puffer Fish the stability was messed up for a few minutes. We had to reset it a few times. Stability doesn’t help on a small track with an overpowered car. Volume is hard to adjust for everything. What i edit on it doesn’t spike as much. But others it does.

Anything i knew about rc is about 15 years old i picked one of these up on a wim at a pawn shop rtr with charger for 140$ so impressed this is soooooooo fucking cool

I put the hot racing sway bar kit on mine n it handles so much better, also I put a 14 tooth pinion n it adds speed n temps stay good

I just drove my new build and went straight to a center diff, big bore shocks and gyro. I have the sway bars to put on as well. On my first drive (2S) I couldn't get it out of shape. I'd be curious how you like the handling with some of these upgrades.

Mike Jensen the TSM makes a huge difference. Some part of the video had our tsm acting crazy. First I thought it was the driver but it was turning randomly. We reset it and had no issues. We generally try to test with no aides. They work too good.

Hey bro. I subscribed, I don’t normally but you were pretty insistent. The it doesn’t cost you anything it helps me out thing got me. It worked. Good psychology there. This car looks like too much for my nine year old. What would you recommend? Sounds like you know your stuff

Out of curiosity, with that thing torquing to the rear so much would a little weight in the front end reduce the constant Wheeling...I have one and as in the video this machine has way to much torque in the rear making it want to dance on its hind legs all the time. Fortunately for me though where I am I do not have access to pavement that is wide open so my throttle is more on the short burst end with hill climbing and jumping.

It is very hard to find correct batteries since I'm new to the hobby. I just bought this RC, as well as the Ez peak charger and a 3000 mah traxxas battery. Can you recommend me a battery that I don't need adapters for for this truck?

Dylan Porter just get the traxxas packs or look for a regular size with traxxas connectors.

Honestly though, I have had this car now for a little while now and it is far more controllable than this guy is making it look even on 3s. He says he races as he punches it on the turn just to see it go shooting over the pipe boundary. Driving any rc car like that is going to make running it on a track miserable. You're right, it is as though it's all or nothing on that throttle, like he is pressing a button. Timestamp 0:40 and 3:10 are great examples of throttle control.

Anyone know what kind of 3s battery and charger would fit and be best for this thing? I keep hearing people saying stay clear of traxxas batteries. Not sure why. Can get the traxxas charger and 3s 4000mah for around $80. Thought that was a good deal. Kinda new to this hobby. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

nicknasty14 Traxxas batteries are fine. They aren’t hardcased but they are the same as other soft shell batteries.

The only reason it flips so much is because he has it on sports mode. Sports mode is supposed to accelerate the car on the quick when it's on a racing track..

No center dif is a huge weak point on this car imo. Everyone wants to mention your throttle control without regarding the lack of a center dif, which I think plays a bigger role in the car always flipping over.

Damn did a 3year old drove the Rustler on the tarmac?! Flipping and crashing all the time.. wtf?! Throttle management sucks balls in this video. An 9yr old at our local track controlls his Rustler 4x4 (and my Erevo 2.0) better then this.

J vD come drive the 3s version on the track lol. Sensor less blows on a track. Some of that video the TSM was acting funny. We had to reset it 3 times before it was messed up. But we can race lap times for beer.

If you're right next to it and it's flipped over . Just flip it over you lazy ass . Using the self right is if its super far away & chews your shit up but guess you'll find that out if you keep driving it like that . I'd give it a month maybe less

It comes with auto flip and we don't care if it lasts a month. :)
