Merry Christmas. I hope you have a great Christmas and New Years! Those tires weren't doing you any favors for the speed run. Kind of odd the way you kept losing connection. Was your receiver antenna ok?

Merry Christmas! Yeah the antenna is fully intact….I’ve never had a range issue….I might try feeding more antenna out of the receiver box, maybe that will help

Unfortunately traxxas radios are spotty when it comes to reception and response. I tried to use the TQI that came with my xo-1 but just felt terrified of the thing. Swapped in my dx5c and a Hobbystar servo and responsiveness improved massively.

Most of the time I’ve had good luck with the Traxxas radio systems….not sure what’s going on with it

@dylanwhite6539 I've had the same experience with Traxxas radio ever since 2022 they've had glitches and stuttering on every one i've had. I have an XO-1 myself but i bought it as a roller so i don't have experience with an out of the box one. but how you described yours it makes me glad i went with a roller off eBay and put in my own electronics, wheels and my own custom painted body. Even though it was more expensive but i do enjoy mine and i hope to 100 with mine this year.

those gps units aren't very accurate ya need a sky rc glonass one its why better the bike ones lack speed reading it takes them a good 30 seconds to catch up aka they are super laggy so you deff have more of a mph then what the gps says

I’ve used it right next to a GNSS speed meter…it seems pretty spot on….I do wonder if it might have lost signal or something…it definitely should have been going faster than that

Unfortunate crash but great to see one of your slashes out for a run i have 3 Slash 4x4's myself. I have one question from something i saw in the video, What happened to your Jeep did sell it and buy another smaller car?

Yeah it was nice to get the Slash out….I was hoping for some higher speeds though…. I still have my Jeep….I just bought a cheap commuter car cause I work further away from home now and the Jeep gets horrible fuel economy lol

@@RCKnockout I now understand i know how Jeep's aren't known to get very good MPG and that's good you got a new job. And that's great you got your slash out for a run i hope to get my ultimate out too i just got done regluing it 's tires.

Drop your spur gear to 50 and add belted wheels to get a huge difference in top speed

Yeah it needs bigger pinion and smaller spur….I’d like to be around 65-70mph

@@RCKnockout I’m running a 19pinion and 54 spur gear Only ran it on 2s so far and easily breaking 40 probably pushing 50 2wd slash making it hard to put down the power and keep control though so I haven’t even really hit the top speed It’s also been wet I am on a 4000kv motor though I might add

4wd slash Hobbywing wp10bl120g2 Quickrun 3652 4000kv 3s 23/50 gearing lol and im hitting over 60 with me only being 75 percent throttle

That makes sense….4000kv is the reason why you’re going faster than my setup….higher kv means more rpm….I have a much larger and lower kv motor 2100…meaning if I gear up higher it’ll go much faster

I don't know if you've done this yet but I have that same truck it's beefed up but I have the stock motor and ESC in it that came with it. I'll put the same pinion and spool gear in my truck and I can tell you right now I know this is a video your truck too slow. So brand new it's a 13 tooth pinion 54 spool speed gear pinion is an 18 tooth which it can do 60 Plus with that 18 tooth. I could tell you right now I've had your same sit up in my slash 21 pinion 54 spool and I'm touching almost 85 mph. Like I said I'm not trying to talk crap to you or anything like that you never know until you try and then another piece of advice all the power lines that you're next to right now is the reason why your trucks acting up if you didn't know that maybe next time find another place with less power lines and that should do just fine. The kv is way lower on my setup….a stock motor is 3500kv, this is 2100kv that’s why yours is way faster with similar gearing… I’ve been going to this spot for years, never had an issue with any radio systems before Have a Merry Christmas! 👍😉

@@RCKnockout yeah you're right I'm 80% deaf how to watch the video again. Only mention the power lines cuz I've ran one of my Traxxas vehicles around some power lines and have had problems move away things work just fine hope you had a good Christmas Happy New Year.
