@wilsontyler6565 - I had the same dilemma as you and I eventually decided to buy the summit. I am very pleased with this decision. My Summit now has a top speed of 39mph with 18/54 gearing and summit wheels. If you want to go 55mph and faster, all you need are the other wheels, gearing and 2 x 3s lipo... and the mamba monster, of course. :-)

@ontogc - when you program mamba monster ESC on PC, you have option to set up Motor Timing. This is a quote from the instructions: "Advancing the timing on an electric motor can have varying effects. Lowering the timing advance will reduce the amp draw, increase runtime, reduce motor/battery temperature, and may slightly reduce top speed and punch. Raising the timing advance will increase amp draw, decrease runtime, increase motor/battery temperature, and may slightly increase top speed."

yes, that's with the mamba and yes mamba juices more then stock if you go full throttle, but this rarely happens in my case, because it is too much power. with stock setup, I was at full throttle almost all the time.

@ontogc - the top speed is 48 kph (30mph) and that is on this stock setup with 4s lipo and the lowest timing setup.

that depends on your driving style, my run time is about 40 to 50 minutes with dual 2s 5000 lipos and with stock ones was about 10-15 min.

@wilsontyler6565 - no, im running 4s lipo. if you want to go faster you can run 6s lipo with different gearing. you do not have to have brushless for lipos, just a esc that supports lipos (and that voltage), or device which will alert you when the voltage is to low.

Answered my question before I even got to ask it. What do you have your slipper set to in order to prevent damage (turns out from fully compressed spring) so i can match it. Anything else I should worry about if I do the same to my Summit? Nice vid btw!

I do not know whether this is the best way to do it, but.. first I unscrewed the clutch that much, so when I press full throttle, he does not do the wheelies, and then I tightened it back until he starts to do it again. that breaking point ensures that the clutch will slip just to absorb strongest stress. Since then I have not broken any gear. I do not manage to drive a lot, but still ....

hey, im a nitro guy and am going to be buying either a e revo or summit. i love the revo cuz how fast they are and what you can do to make them faster. but i like the summit cuz its the same set up but slower, can you do everything to a summit that you can a e revo? id like to get a solid 55 out of a summit maybe 50? suggestions?

i would love to do this to my summit but i got to ask you a couple questions first. first, is that the stock shock setup? and second is that the stock gear ratio or did you have to lower it? also whats the top speed with that motor? great vid by the way :) thanks

This have much more PULLING CAPACITY than the E-maxx or E-Revo with the same mamba motor. Correct?

How fast does the Mamba Monster make the Summit? I know out of the box the Summit goes about 21-22 Mph

be carfull with the diffs because there not made for brushless motors but if you are careful with it it should not be a problem :)

hey if your using the stock summit tires....DONT!!! there way to soft.. there ment to be a hybrid for crawling and bashing but with a mamba it is ay to much force on it and will strech too far

It's pretty sad how you have all of these "rice burner" Honda guys who talk mad crap about their little 4 cylinders with thousands of dollars in work done to them, and this Traxxas would probably kick the Honda's ass, haha. It's crazy how a few hundred dollars can get you a "Toy" as people call it that can beat a full sized vehicle. xD
