I bought a tmaxx the year they came out in 1999, still have it. You must have an earlier model truck. I think the stampede was around then.

The Traxxas engines can be finicky. I mean it’s a great platform for your first nitro. The Losi 8ight would be the way to go in my opinion. I have heard good things about the stock engine and both the buggy and truggy are solid RCs

Screw traxxas thier vehicles always come broken you'll always be sending something back to them come initial break in. They aren't what they used to be there quality control is nearly no existant these days.. my fuggin 2.5 came with a bad carb and traxxas told me it was my fault ... ridiculous.. aye rc element I'm in Baltimore bro. Fun and fast at first, they loose compression as they age so they get slower and they get harder to start up

@Arturo S.L. What? Where did you get that crapola? I've had my TMaxx for 19+ years. Never had a problem and it still does 50+ mph. It's on its Second Glow plug since I got it. When you take care of Nitro engines they last forever. So yeah, your flat out wrong dude.

@Normanrukki I literally followed all the directions and it last 4 months. It's not about the age, it's about the amount of fuel run through it

You can get a brand new one for 389 bucks. Mines 23 years old and I still have it. Please follow PROPER break in procedure for the engine and don't rush the process. The tmaxx classic is a great nitro truck and will give you tons of fun. Its not a cheap hobby. I recommend upgrading all control arms to RPM. But I left mine stock aside from a skid plate and the arms. Pretty tough truck on 30% nitro even.

$360 is a decent deal as long as you are 100% sure it works and is in good condition. New ones go for $400 these days so if saving $40 is important to you then buy it.
