Not sure why it happens, but the same issue happened to my TRX-4. Would hold the throttle wide open and would just stop. It could be an electrical short in the system somewhere. But my solution was to get a new battery. I did that and it works great now.

Belt drives slip under bigger loads, definitely use the gears. I think the esc is the issue. Go big!!!! Stock tires should come apart freewheeling, you’ll get it!!!!!!

Before you take the castle esc out. Check the owner's manual for troubleshooting. Also Google it.

the belt drive is amazing i would rip it at like midnight and not wake any neighbors just make sure after a few runs you put tension on the belt since it will stretch a little when breaking it in

Check the manual there new esc makes different kinds of beeps to indicate a problem. Mine did this it ended up being one of the batteries.

I'm not sure if it was brought up yet in the comments because I didn't read all of them but it sounds like the esc spontaneously turns itself on just before you start the testing the motor.

Power aside i wonder how suspension needs to be setup for water. Thinner oil with some droop so tires have more contact with water surface or thicker and hope it just hop and skips. And your difs are locked right? I imagine that would help. Good stuff man

Them huge gears sound great an the belt drives are nice they have their pros an cons. The do hold up tho imo. Ole xmaxx is a ripper now. Nice job too. I got faith in you for beating it an bnm are a great company.

Calibrate the ESC I sent a motor to somebody who bought one off me and it was doing the same thing and I said calibrate it and guess what it worked

I'm sure you already changed the esc but mine does that when the batteries in my controller become low. Not sure why it just happens.
