I don't run many trucks, but i run the heck outta some boats, one day pick up some graphite powder, it's basically a dry lube, works for pivot balls, hinge pins, lots of little applications

They squeak because no one lubes them parts up! Why..because they have to take them apart and don't want a mess...or have the mind set grease attracts dirt. Either way makes no sense to complain about lack of maintenance in the end. Great vid Earl.💯🔥💥🚀

I dont recall those areas of RC's requiring lubing bro. Been at this for many years and owned many RC's and never had to lube those areas. Actually, squeaking is something i never had to deal with either, sold my Xmaxx before this started occurring consistently.
@earlmoorhead55553 ай бұрын
@spenn2007 if you pull apart a new xmaxx you’ll see all the pins have some oil on them but quickly they dry up 👍

Metal pins/balls in plastic will "melt" the plastic a bit under heavy use and squeak. Glad my 1/5 scales, real 1/5 scales, all use self lubricating hiems and/or bearings in the hinge pin braces. Titanium hinge pins helps a lot but not available for most RC's.

Hey that’s me! Thanks for the video! Be interesting to see if the squeak is gone when you run it! Almost sounds drivetrain related not so much the arms and pins. Those were more, creak. Lol.

Man im feeling like thats going to hold dirt.. liquefied graphite or just wd-40 dry lube formula works really well and doesn't attract dirt and sand

I would think a 3000 psi pressure washer blasting on dust covered bearings and open hinge pin would be a little excessive and remove any grease that was in it. I would not recommend this to anybody. Just my 2 cents

WD 40 works every time and if it doesn’t last that long then grease it up and make it heavy and remember any and all dirt and dust will stick to it so it’s best to wipe it off and put more grease on it daily depending on how much you ran your thousand dollar RC truck and on what surface you ran it on. Not many people know this but you can buy them sealed with grease in them so you don’t have to keep doing this. I don’t know if they make them for the most expensive RC truck that Traxxas makes because Traxxas don’t sell as many of them as the number of the stampede and Rustler that sells.

Yes but the gear will fail in the servo it’s only a matter of time

Keep your Xmaxx out of the water and mudd, and you won't have this issue. WD40 wont help, it's bad for plastic RC's, buy some lube and apply it to the metal parts. This still won't solve the massive amount of slop the Xmaxx develops due to bashing. People think it's super durable, however, this RC just bends and torques resulting in metal components loosening up causing slop through the entire RC (My experience).

@earlmoorhead55553 ай бұрын
For me it’s the parts cost to repair the XRT and xmaxx parts are half the cost to repair the rc then an arrma rc
@AnthonyBencomo3 ай бұрын
@@earlmoorhead5555for sure! I love the look of the Arrma Outcast, but the Xmaxx is cheaper on repair. And more durable. Many say it doesn’t handle as well. But if I want something to handle better I’ll just get my Kraton out.
@spenn20073 ай бұрын
I have OWNED a Xmaxx, the Xmaxx is not more "durable". Bashing it won't break things initially, however, internal components will wear, and it's over from there. You start stripping spur gears, the pinion will come off, and the issues are endless if you bash an Xmaxx. An A-Arm or other visible components may seem okay and may not break, however, the internals are junk metal and the RC loosens up, and this squeaking is just one of many symptoms, RC's dont require lubing of these components lol, if they do name ONE other than an Xmaxx.
@earlmoorhead55553 ай бұрын
@spenn2007 all rc metal components come with some lube on them,spur gears pinions as well, as many ppl don’t add lube to these parts during most services, all companies while assembly have an oil on there metal components, the xmaxx has a real tight clearance on there pins, and when they dry out tend to make noise as it doesn’t hurt the rc, over time rust will accrue in these areas as the pins start to dry up.. so I’d say all brand have oils on they’re metal parts when new 💯
@justinfolster22783 ай бұрын
K thanks probly go with the xrt if it's cheaper to fix I thought the arrma was cheaper for parts but guess not.....

@G35Jeesh some spray the whole rc in wd 40 to make the arms flex but traxxas has changed there plastic now that has the flexibility even better with the upgraded X arms just like the inner bearing are bigger now solving that issue and the captured hing pins are for when the arms start flexing to much pulling out of the arms several little tricks to keep this rc going 👍
