Hagler vs Hearns…. Not only did I lose my voice for days it was almost too much excitement for a twelve year kid. I was thinking someone might die in the ring.

OH MY GOD .THE SUTTLE DEFENSE MOVES,COUNTERS,LATERAL MOVEMENTS, TRAP COUNTERS,FEINTS, LITERALLY EVERYTHING that blowed up,slowed down,not at right weight, ageing Duran did to oppose the in shape , physical specimen,power Punching,stronger,taller,hard hitting beast Barkley is BOXING LEGEND.you rarely see a result like this where a mismatch turns out to be the proof of a LEGEND.DURAN THE GREATEST LIGHTWEIGHT OF ALL TIME.insane greatness that night.

I've watched Boxing since the 70s. I saw Ali's great fights against Frazier and the Rumble in the Jungle. Ali knocking out Foreman was very special. But Hagler vs Hearns was a WAR. Too me it up there as 1 of the Greatest fights I've seen.

Great fights….Great memories. Very happy to have seen all these fights along with the build up and the excitement (especially those matchups with 4Kings) … The sport was a lot better then. The advancement of sports medicine (PEDs) has created really weird scheduling with long off periods and then the need for sudden rushes to get in the ring. It’s obvious and ridiculous for the fan/consumer. Not saying all of the fighters were 100% clean in the 80s but the boxing brand was in much better shape then.

Hearns was my favorite fighter growing up. Me and my dad would watch all those old super fights.

Every division was nothing but great fights in the 70’s and 80’s! You had to be a member of the walking dead to not be excited about a Hagler, Hearns, Sugar Ray, Duran…I don’t want to forget homeboy Donnie Lalonde!

I love this fight but its hard to say if its the greatest fight of the 80s when you have Pryor-Arguello I, Gomez-Pintor and Limon-Chacon IV also plus Leonard-Duran I and Leonard-Hearns I and Sanchez-Gomez, Sanchez-Nelson, Arguello-Mancini, Garza-Meza and Barkley-Duran!!

I remember this fight psyched me up so much with Tommy’s energy level I hit my heavy bag until my tongue was hanging out.. He kinda went down like a in a Rocky movie tho so dramatic.. I’m wondering if it was just a little play acting there

To me this wasn't the fight of the 80s! It was a very messy brawl which haglar drew tommy into as he knew a boxing match with Tommy was far too risky especially with tommys reach and boxing skill! Remember tommy was out boxing ray Leonard when both were in their prime and ray Leonard had to hunt him down and knock him out late in the fight.. haglar was smart and wasn't getting any younger. Remember haglar turned this into a brawl not tommy.

So the greatest fight. Nothing modern impresses me. No disrespect to modern athletes.
