When I was 5 years old other kids in kindergarten told me about Christmas . I ran home and asked my dad if we could do Christmas . He said I guess . When Christmas came I got a big John Deere tractor . It was green . There was five children in the house . Well I played with that tractor for 360 days until it came up missing . Five days later it was Christmas again and I got a big yellow John Deere tractor . We were poor .

In ESSO service stations (the French name for EXXON) you earned 1 point for every 10 liters of gasoline purchased. And with these points, you could have one of these plates, specially created for Esso... 10 points for the flat plate, 8 points for the soup plate and 6 points for the dessert plate... Later there were even coffee cups with saucers. This lasted until the mid-80s when we started to find these plates on the market...
