There have been several updates. The updates are in my garden tour videos, usually once a month. The last update on the box hedging was in the April garden tour video, which I am linking to here... kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i659a5CCtMrWpZc.htmlsi=EHNA552yy1sjNFoo

I hope it works and I am sure it will do the job like it did previously. It inspired me to give my boxwood some foliar feed too as it has been losing some leaves over the years. Have a wonderful week Rachel 😍😍😘😘

Hope all your hard work does the trick. I had box blight 5 years ago, i treated it pretty much the same as you and managed to get it under control but to my horror a couple of weeks ago i noticed it had come back and so quickly it took hold as I hadn’t noticed it one week and then the next it was there. I was searching online for any tips for treating and it all seems to be the same message. Ive given mine 2 applications of the top buxus now 2 weeks apart but i think i now need to get the dead infected stuff cut out, just not had time to do it yet. Hopefully, its not too late to get this blight under control. Living in Manchester England dry days and when I’ve got time to do it are a challenge but 🤞

Apparently the blight can lie dormant for up to five years in the soil if you don't collect all the clippings. Box blight is trouble but if you have a mature hedge, it really is worth going to some trouble to save it. Good luck to us both.

Hi Rachel, Thank you for doing this video, it has given me hope. Especially after seeing your recent video! I am in Southern Maine US. I have about 30 mature Box Bushes that I adore. Sadly something has gotten to a few of them and it is spreading quickly. Although I am told that blight has not reached my area I believe that mine do indeed have it. I am currently waiting for verification from the local extension agency. May I ask how you determined that yours was blight? Your home and gardens are lovely and I enjoy your channel.

There are two main culprits that cause damage like this on box. When I ruled out caterpillars, it had to be box blight. Wishing you all the best with yours.

I hope this works. I thought I had a case of box blint, last year, but it turned out to but box caterpillar. Therefore, I am keeping a watch out for it and spraying my plants in advance. Thanks for sharing.

What was the name of the feed you used in the spray bottle? Do you have a link where I can buy it?

How do you sanitize trimmers & shears whilst cutting back?

Use a bleach solution in a spray bottle.

hi rachel, i am a member of NGS mainly for my box topiary and a couple of years ago blight started. It appears august and seems to get worse over winter. did your treatment work and what time of year did you cut them back?
@GardeningatDouentza3 ай бұрын
Hi there. The treatment was done in April and you can see a link to the follow up video in the video description.

Can a long cold season of winter defoliation fight the blight? Boxwoods in my area pretty much lose all their leaves every year.
@GardeningatDouentza6 ай бұрын
I am not sure if box blight can be killed off with a cold winter in the same way that some pests can. I do know that cold winters can give rise to the condition 'winter burn', which might be confused with box blight. Sorry to not be of more help.

Box blight must surely be a very aggressive and invasive garden pest. I hope all of your hard work and dedication pays off. Your poor arms!!!

Thats winter burn not blight
@GardeningatDouentza8 ай бұрын
That's very interesting but I don't think so. I say this because we had the wettest October on record so the box would have had no lack of water. Also, despite an unseasonal December low of -5C (23F) we did not have snow.
