23-year-old lady doesn’t like having big upper eyelids, and also doesn’t like the hollowness in her sub-brow area. She asked a doctor about using cosmetic fillers for the hollowness, but the doctor said they can’t be injected in this area.

Hi! I am 25 and I never had a problem with my eyelids until a few years ago. They started to hollow and now I look tired all the time. I would wake up some mornings and they would look really nice and normal but after a few hours, they would become wrinkly and hollow again. Will I be able to do the hyaluronic acid fillers on my upper eyelids?

Hi Bright Whale, It is possible that hyaluronic acid fillers can help you, but I can't say for sure as I have never examined your eyelids. A proper physical exam and diagnosis are needed before I can say this is the right treatment for you. I hope this helps you.

I have this and I don’t mind it at all. The problem is that my eyebrows are very low. I know this procedure can help but I definitely need a brow lift too. The problem is if I raise my brows the hollowness will show even more … it’s so confusing 🤦🏻‍♀️

I want to ask you a question doctor sir? Can fillers lift the outer corner of the eyes. Giving a slanted look. And can fillers reduce the brow bone to some extent? 🙂

Hi Brawlfort Official, No, fillers cannot lift the outer corner of the eyes, and that would require surgery. Since fillers are used for adding volume, they cannot reduce prominence in the brow area. I hope this clarifies things for you.

@@AmiyaPrasadMD Do you think fillers to cheekbones, under eye and upper eyelid at the same time would make a difference to your eyes. And can fillers help with symmetry of the eyes

Hi@@brawlfortofficial5006, Filler at the cheekbones are primarily for the lack of projection, and for the lower eyelid for hollowness. They can improve the appearance of the whole face, but will not help with eye shape. Hollowness in the upper eyelid can make it appear droopy and asymmetrical as shown in the video, which can be improved with filler. However, asymmetry due to weakened or stretched upper eyelid muscle, or eyelid skin hooding do need surgical treatment. I hope this clarifies things for you.

Hi science_girl, Your upper eyelid hollowness may be due to genetics, in which case you're not too young for treatment. While it's not a common issue in young people, it can happen. I hope this helps you.

Hello doctor, so you are basically saying, that filler around the eyes are dangerous? even the hyaluronic acid?

Hi mensje flensje, There are risks to any procedure, which are reduced by the experience and the skill of the doctor performing them. Hyaluronic acid fillers around the eyes are not dangerous when I perform them as an oculoplastic/oculofacial surgeon, which I do daily for my patients, and I have the safety record to back it up. However, many doctors also refuse to do injection treatments in the eye area because it is a highly delicate area, and they are not specialized in eye or eyelid treatments. Hi bts bangtan army ammu😍, Topical creams cannot create volume behind the upper eyelids. The treatment shown in this video uses injectable fillers to add volume in the upper eyelids, and lower brow. I hope this clarifies things for you.

When having eyelid surgery done by surgeons who don't specialize in cosmetic eyelid surgery, it is possible to have too much fat removed leaving the eyes looking hollow. Hi Arun Aravindh, Filler treatment does need periodic maintenance, and grafted fat can also be absorbed by the body. Since no treatment stops the effects of aging, there are very few if any cosmetic treatments that are actually permanent. I hope this clarifies things for you.

Is it safe to have fat transfer on upper eyelid?

Hi Knivez, Yes, fat transfer is safer in the upper eyelids than it is for the lower eyelids, and an example is shown in the video. However, these days I prefer to do it with filler as it is more predictable as fat absorption varies, and filler treatment is easier on the patient since there is no surgery involved, and initial treatment and touch ups can also be done in minutes. Hi Knivez, You can still have a fat transfer or filler treatment to the upper eyelids if you had previous upper eyelid surgery. The possibility of hitting an artery is greatly reduced if you see an eyelid specialist with a lot of experience performing procedures in this area, including injectable filler and fat transfer.
