A very clear and thorough presentation. My experience of seminoma stage A back in 1996 in the UK reflects the Dr’s content. Easy to self diagnose through hardness, size and weight. Primary care consultation to Urologist to removal/ histology in less than a month. Nothing to suggest spread but three week radiotherapy (as based on 70/30 rule). Five year follow up with six monthly chest X-Ray’s. Very thorough experience through the UK healthcare system on private healthcare but with NHS services.

What is the latest research on if something is passed from the mother to the fetus? I once heard it was a chemical compound ingested and it somehow gets there.

I would've had the non seminoma when I fell victim to testicular cancer cos I'm in my late twenties

Stage A non-seminoma (I guess you mean Stage 1) is never treated with 2-3 cycles of BEP as you mentioned. It is 1-2 cycles of BEP, and the latest literature shows that 1 x BEP is sufficient.

American doctors over treat everything. They even use higher radiation doses than UK

I'm doing 3 cycles of BEP. I guess it's overkill.

Alieu, my youngest son had testicular cancer at age 18, and the other side at 20. My older son got it last year. They are both well, although my youngest has no testicles and is on hormones. Please be confident, that early and rigorous treatment, though very hard should cure you completely!

Can smoking from the mother course testis cancer
@dougedwardsyachts2 жыл бұрын
As the Dr mentioned cause is not really known but I was told that it is a disease of modern times (Western life) so could be influenced by things like female hormones in chicken production that as well as food can get into domestic drinking water.

I'd like to know too. I'm stage 1 seminoma. Will I love a normal life, or do I have a few years left?

@☠ ᒪ𝕠𝓖𝐚𝐧 I'm still here. Little did I know, testicular cancer is highly curable. Specially if you are stage 1. You are gonna be just fine. You are just gonna lose a testicle.
@alvinromo2 жыл бұрын
@☠ ᒪ𝕠𝓖𝐚𝐧 it depends on which tumor it is. There's only two. One is less aggressive than the other. Younger men tend to get the aggressive one. I'm in my late 30s. If you are younger than 25, you are at risk of the aggressive type. Since you are stage 1 there are two options. If you have the less aggressive one, chimo is optional. You can actually choose to be under surveillance for 5 years. And then you are released. If you have the aggressive type, they recommend removing the lymph nodes. But you can choose to be under surveillance as well. But the visits are much higher.
