I really think that the man and dog running are a great addition. On a lot of size videos, especially outer space ones, the shrinkage is the same percent rate, and you very quickly lose the sense of scale as it just devolves into shrinking objects. You get the Earth shrinking at the same rate as monster stars like UY Scuti. By having the runners, the actual movement is at a more steady pace, so the small trees pass faster and the big ones pass slower, you can feel the difference in size.

In Greece we have olive trees 2500 - 3000 years old. Some say even 5000 years old. There was such an olive tree that was called "Athena's tree"... supposedly had been planted by the goddess Athena and a bus driver fell on it and ripped it off. It was 2500 years old...

Like hit it with a bus or fell on it...? Neither make sense, a tree said to have been planted by a literal goddess would not just be near a street or unguarded, and you ain't tearing up a full grown tree by falling on it.

@@ValidT The tree was hit by the bus. There is a photo from the incident on the internet but YT does not allow me to publish the link. When the tree was planted... thousands of years ago ...there was no road anywhere near. Later the city expanded. In modern years there were rails around the tree, but the accident was a serious one and the bus broke them together with the tree. "supposedly planted by the goddess"...

Cool to see our native kauri tree from aotearoa/new zealand featured here. You should do a comparison on some of the oldest trees known.we have a 1,000 year old rata tree here in Whanganui called Ratanui.

There are lots of species. Some do get that tall but those usually are not the shape shown in the video but instead have super skinny trunks and little "sunburst" like heads at the top.
