This guy is fantastic and in my opinion the best homesteading channel on KZfaq, while other homesteaders have transitioned into talking about politics and impending war and the fall of civilization just for clickbait and whatnot, this channel just keeps putting out useful content about things around the farm and home. i would love to see an official up to date farm tour video.

Keep up the great work, and never stop throwing in just random stuff to keep us entertained! I loved the dogs running around, and rolling in the mud. Plus the one day old calf seeing a drone for the first time, really makes you think about how we live nowadays, and the progress this world has seen in such a small time period.

Hi John, this was a great video, for two reasons. The power pack looks sensational, although I’m not sure it’s available as yet in Australia. Second reason, that cedar wood looked gorgeous, and yes, we were imagining what it would smell like. The bench you made looked amazing. What a great way to show how efficient the power pack is. Cheers from South Australia.

Nice portable power system. The idea 💡 of having a conversational generator on hand to recharge the unit is essential to compensate for all the variables that a strictly solar charged power unit might run into. Heavy overcast conditions can dramatically effect the energy yield. Lastly, as I've pointed out to folks in the past ,the Solar Charged portable power units are great for intermittent loads at low to moderate power demands. High energy or continuous demand loads are another story. ie... equipment such as, heaters, pumps, high capacity lighting compressors, welders etc.. It's all about duty cycle, (duration of the Load and frequency of the use) vs the size/kw rating of the power pack...

Great VJO....again! I am only 7:06 in and have not read the rest of the comments sorry if this is redundant. The power from generator or and inverter is not a pure sine wave. Most basic volt meters when measuring AC voltage are ( for lack if a better term) calibrated based on an almost pure sine wave, because inverters and generators almost never produce a true sine wave the reading is off. Some meters will give what is known as a true RMS voltage. A True RMS volt meter gives the RMS voltage based on what is actually there regardless if it is a pure sine wave or not or the equivalent RMS voltage. When you measure the voltage from your house it is being measured in RMS voltage.

that thin blade on your saw is warping due to heat because of the thickness and the material that you're cutting is making it making the blade heat up expand and warp that's why it seems like it's bogging down, it's obviously designed for thinner material like plywood. Great video. Comment on the Diablo saw blade. I own a deck building company, and we have found them to be the best. They are thin, and they do warp easily with heat. One thing to keep in mind when using your speed square as a guide for the saw when making cuts. The method works well as long as the blade is parallel to the shoe of the saw. If you have ever dropped the saw and the shoe is not aligned with the blade, then the shoe is going straight across the board but the blade is plowing through at an angle. A thicker blade can take this better without warping. On our crews we actually discourage using a square as a saw guide, unless you know the saw is adjusted propertly.

Hey John, I just wanted to make you aware and hopefully you can do your own research. Lithium Ion batteries are fantastic and all with all sorts of utility they can be used for but they come with an inherent danger which is thermal runaway. With a generator like unit run primarily using Lithium Ion batteries and it moving around being stored in not good conditions can really change how that battery will deteriorate. Plus not everyone is gonna treat that generator with the respect it needs and damage may occur and that should be told to the masses as well. Lithium ion batteries are known for causing fires and being very difficult to put out. Thermal runaway happens when a cell in the battery fails and starts heating up causing a cascading effect to make other cells in the battery fail. Fires and even explosions are known to occur. Explosions happen more in areas where the off gasing from the batteries thermal runaway has nowhere to ventilate then the gases find a ignition source causing big boom. I believe a giant lithium ion battery generator is a dangerous thing and needs to be respected. I tried explaining that as best as I could from the knowledge from my job. Feel free to reach out and ask more questions and do your own research. Lithium ion batteries are no joke and need to taken care of and eventually retired from your tools for a new one and people need to know that. Love the vids John keep em up!

Life PO4 batteries are far more stable than LiPo which is why they are used in power tools etc that can and do get really rough treatment. Here’s a simple test, take a fully charged Life PO4 battery and drive a nail through it. Now do the same with a LiPo, but stand well back from that one!

@@quidsquid9151 theyve improved lithium ion safety 100x in recent years, i havent seen a battery fire that wasnt intentional in several years.. ive been running milwuakee tools for 6+ years and i do not treat the tools or batteries nicely, they get left in -40c weather, and used on rooftops sitting on black shingles that are too hot to touch i guess 55c+, the handles on the radio which are typically a hard plastic with zero give got so hot in the heat of the summer that they were flexible and rubber like the batteries never gave me a single issue, despite me pushing them as hard as possible and frequently making them hit their thermal throttle/shutoff likewise with my iphone which uses a different style of battery but its lithium nonetheless, theres PD fast charges that will attempt to push silly power into it as much as 100w, the phone gets piping hot, uncomfortably hot to hold against your face actually, never an issue with that battery either

I can't wait till they start incorporating 240v into these units so that you can use it as a backup for a well pump. I know they have them, but they are not very common. Running a big generator all the time during an outage just for the well pump to kick on once in a while gets old. this one that you got charges crazy fast though, I might have to check into one to replace my goalzero
