@@BradyLikesBikes nope sorry! I love green though. Mine is the gray with red striping. It’s still sharp looking especially with the tan sidewalls on my Panaracers!! I was lucky to find that one in my 54 cm size. Bikes have been scarce with Covid!

So how much difference do you feel between those bikes?

@@GrouEEf my Domane is much lighter and fun truly, but the checkpoint is same ergonomics and almost as comfortable just slower, yet it could be the tires that are different too. I love them both but my Domane is my fav. This year I rode my checkpoint more as I was on trails more than road.

@@jethrobodine4638 great to hear! I'm torn between several do-it-all-bikes. The Domane actually is quite heavy for an expensive carbon frame, I'm considering an Aspero instead... Or the open up. Or the giant contend ar. Oh God, it's a rabbithole, isn't it?

Thank you! I use Renee Herse Barlow Pass tires. I have heard that a few people have had issues with theirs but my wife and I have been using them exclusively for road and gravel for a couple of years now with no issues.

It’s all personal preference. For me on sketchy stuff I feel like I have more control in the drops than I do on the hoods. But 99.9% of the time I’m either on the hoods or top of my bars.

I’m using a Lezyne Super Pro computer and love it! It’s really affordable given all it’s functions, and on the rare occasion I’ve had an issue their tech support is spot on.

The AL 2 is nice, but I like the 3 a little bit more. The 2 has 8 gears in the back, but the 3 has 9. The 3 also has mounts on the top tube for a bag. Those little things are a nice touch. Either bike I’m sure you’ll be happy to ride.

Original rims, but set up tubeless. I believe we used Stans rim tape.

32 is doable, there are many cycle cross tires in that size and those folks get rowdy. A lot depends on the tire (tube vs tubeless, how thick is the casing, psi), rider weight, and what is your trail like. You never know unless you try, just bring a tube and have fun!

I'll admit that I'm not the greatest home mechanic, but Park Tools has some great videos on KZfaq that have helped me learn. And when all else fails I go to my local shop.

She's got 4,000 odd miles on her, still going strong. I will admit though that with the global bike shortage/supply chain issues I ride a little more nimbly now as I know I can't get a new bike tomorrow if I break one today.

@@SG-dg6oi COVID/2020. Demand for bikes went up as people were looking for ways to get out that are COVID safe. Outdoor tourism and recreation has seen a spike that is unprecedented. And it’s taking manufacturers some time to catch up. I ordered a new mountain bike last year in November. Originally was supposed to get it in July, but it’s been pushed back to October.

@@aparagarwal1234 58 cm sounds good to me! What color did you pick? They all look sick, but I kind of like the red. Like all new bikes you may need to do some little adjustments like a longer or shorter stem, different saddle, etc. But as far as I can tell 58 cm is your size. Congratulations on the new bike and I hope you love it!

I agree. We pull the cranks, grease them, and torque all the hardware twice a year.

Not really. These are pretty mellow trails and we weren’t railing the bikes. Im more worried about damaging a rim than the frame on stuff like this.
