I've been researching for MONTHS on getting a full squish bike and the Fuel EX 9.8 is what I settled on. Was quite a bit over what I promised myself I would spend... But after all the research, I just couldn't find a better bike at the price point. People say you pay a premium for the Trek name. I'm not about that at all. The only bike I found with better kit and specs was the Ibis Ripmo, and I don't know anyone with any experience on that bike, there are no local shops/dealers, etc. So it's kind of a gamble... The return policy on the Trek is amazing. If it sucks, I just bring it back. To me, after months of research (this is a LOT of money for me), the choice was clear.

I like the fact that you can change this bike into an enduro bike from a trail bike.

Super sick bike! I was impressed by the rim integrity of the line elite 30 wheels but they lost tension constantly, spokes broke non stop, and the hub only lasted 6 months. Hopefully they hold up for you!
