Good riding, good fun, Tal. I like how you wrapped a rubber inner tube around that frame to manage chain slap (and it looks bad ass too). I did that to my bike also. The Marlin 5 frame should be able handle almost any kind of riding. Just upgrade parts as they wear out, break, or when you desire some better components.

I've heard many people mention that the Bontrager Arvada saddle on this bike is not comfortable. I think switching it out to a more cushioned seat would solve that problem! I've kept the same seat on my bike in hopes that it will just wear in, which is has a bit, but overall it is pretty stiff.
@leecampbell25213 жыл бұрын
I’ve had one about 2 weeks. I rode stood quite a lot but the seat definitely isn’t the comfiest. I’ve just received a memory foam seat cover today. Out on a 17 mile ride in the morning do will hopefully feel the benefit. Great Bike so far though. 👍🏻

I'm thinking of getting a Marlin 7 for my weekend ride around town for fitness. I had a slipped disc 2 years ago but cycling really helped. I'm 5'7 and using a giant size S bike as it's more comfortable and lighter. Do you think I should get it or a hybrid bike?
@TalalipopMTB3 жыл бұрын
I know Trek's hybrid bikes are more fitness oriented, especially the FX which has a lot of fitness specific features. The marlin 7 is great as a beginner mountain bike or if you want to ride some biking trails more often, but if you prefer to stay on the road the FX bikes will be faster, lighter, and better for fitness overall. If you want something in the middle, the dual sport bikes have suspension works but thinner tires so they are not as robust as the marlins, but much better for road and light trail riding.
