Canyon has measurement boxes to help you choose the right size. If you pick a smaller one because it's in stock, that's pretty much your choice...not really a criticism Canyon can do much about.
@ElevationEveryWeekend
@ElevationEveryWeekend Жыл бұрын
yes, I used their measurement guide and it seemed it would work, and it was ok, not ideal. The only way to know for sure is via a bike fit, or by actually trying the bike yourself, not typically an option with a direct to consumer brand. Sizing aside, the Procal needed up being a better bike for me, which I may not have even explored had the seat post issue not been present. Overall I still am positive on the Exceed, and still have it and may try to find a use for it unless the used market recovers and I can sell it for a reasonable price.

The Trek ProCaliber will also take a wider rear tire 2.4" vs 2.2" for the Exceed
@ElevationEveryWeekend
@ElevationEveryWeekend Жыл бұрын
Yep the Procal can definitely go up in size. I think the Exceed has at least as much clearance too, maybe even more, interesting if they do claim only 2.2”. It has 2.25” on it from factory.

Very nice video, thank you for it. I'm also Trek fan here :) I owe Procaliber 9.5 (gray/black) since 2 weeks now and I love the look of this bike. So far did 150km and I have majority of positive feelings. I did some upgrades directly out of the box ( added Deore M6100 breaks and crankset to have whole Deore Group set ), Deore XT Ice-tech break discs, carbon fiber seat post, SRAM grips and looking for better fork for the future. Most likely will chose Reba as well but still thinking about 120mm :D
@ElevationEveryWeekend
@ElevationEveryWeekend Жыл бұрын
Nice! Yeah when I do the fork I am trying to decide if I want to go 120mm and slightly bigger more aggressive tires, or keep it 100mm with lighter tires. It has impressed on the trails so far as-is, so might try to just get the weight down.

I managed to get the weight to 11.6kg with a Sid Ultimate RaceDay 100mm and XT 2-piston brakes, XT cranks, XT derailleur, XT spd pedals, SLX cassette and finally Schwalbe Racing Ray & Racing Ralph. I intentionally bought the great frame and swapped the components.

Nice video, funny that the Trek is a Large and Canyon a Medium while the Canyon looks bigger. I have a question, i am 179cm tall. What is the good size frame for me? M or M/L or L? Thanks greets from the Netherlands
@ElevationEveryWeekend
@ElevationEveryWeekend 11 ай бұрын
That's a tough call on sizing. I am just over 180cm tall. I can use med or M/L, but I can say for me I definitely prefer all of my large bikes on sizing. Based on your preferences and the specifics of your build (arm/leg/torso length, etc) it's tough to say for sure. Of course bike manufacturers differ as well too. Try to get fitted or ride before you buy, if you can.

Awesome comparison! What is your height and inseam? I am currently on a medium Scott Scale hardtail and looking at Procalibers. Trek’s medium is smaller than many other brands mediums and my height puts me right between the the M/L and Large on the trek chart.

@@RicardoRibeiroAlves I found a shop with both. The M/L is my pick. Both felt good, but i liked the slightly smaller size for panic stopping and dabbing my foot. I live in NW Indiana and also ride in Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconsin. The trails around here are typically super tight and twisty with small punchy climbs and roots everywhere from big oak trees. If you get hung up on roots you need to unclip and dab your foot instantly or else tip over. I go to Colorado to rent bikes and ride typically once or twice a year. The trails there are way smoother and much more flowing. If i lived and rode in Golden, boulder, or Leadville i would probably want the large for a little extra length and stability.

@@jongill2120 that is a very helpful feedback. Your choice makes a lot of sense. I'm going to the L then, very fast XC where I pedal. Thanks. Take care.

Hi Jon- I am bit confused between Scott Scale 930 vs Trek Procaliber 9.6 How is your experience with Scott Scale I am currently using Scott Aspect 930 and happy with the bike,but my next goal is to get Carbon Hardtail and confused between Scale vs Procaliber Scott Scale Carbons are Cambodia made this worries me for quality and finish as Taiwan made(Procaliber) are far better.. in finishing and quality… Secondly Procaliber Stack is low it’s a short bike … not sure if they can be equally good on roads …as 50% I do city rides …Rest I am well versed with Treks quality they are top notch. Great if you can share your thoughts
