I like to imagine in the mirror darkly universe we see in picard season 2, that evil picard encounters mauriarty on the D as well, only that version weilds him as a weapon, probably setup up a torture chamber in a holodeck and has mauriarty "get information" out of people... before he kills them.

@TrekCulture, Section 31's interest in the Kataan probe makes a lot of sense. If you think about it Picard not only lived an entire life in 25 minutes he retained the skills he'd learned during that time. Of course section 31 would want to be able to revrse engineer the probe you could fully train a soilder in 25 minutes during times of war or instantly train starfleet cadets at the academy.

It's actually quite interesting how Daystrom Station preserved so many key figures. The mind of the institute's founder via the M-5, Kirk, Data via B4, and even Picard's previous organic body. And given that Alton Soong's final project was housed there, it's possible he provided the body to Section 31. After all, the body was previously under his jurisdiction. I find it a little odd that he left his children behind to work on this final project, but I do understand his reason for deciding to forgo saving himself. And it proved to be exactly what was needed for humanity's survival. Also, I didn't want to claim it was Picard's "original" body. He's been through transporters enough times and was even converted to energy, for a short time existing within a nebula and within the systems of the Enterprise-D, but was restored to matter without memory of his energy existence. Reminds me of when a similar thing happened to members of the DS9 crew during a transporter malfunction that put their minds in the station computers and their bodies in the holosuite. BTW, doesn't this prove that THEY HAVE A WAY TO TURN HOLOGRAMS INTO FLESH AND BLOOD PEOPLE? Well, pending they're suitably programmed... Sorry. Rabbit hole.

I've always wondered if the fact that all of Data's "ancestors" look alike, that "The Questor Tapes" actually happened in the Star Trek Universe.
@silversonic1
@silversonic1 Жыл бұрын
@@martykarr7058 It's hard to tell sometimes. After all, Gene Roddenberry was trying to create an expanded universe while TOS was running and had brought TOS production crew members along for The Questor Tapes. But I honestly wonder if it has more to do with their roots in genetic engineering. Between that and their... tendency towards sizable egos, I do wonder if cloning was involved at some point.

I was again saddened by the Picard producers' almost complete disinterest in Lal when she was briefly mentioned, but then that was it. It was as if Data's line on TNG about Lal living in his head through her memories if not other parts of her consciousness meant very little to them or they didn't even remember it. I thought Lal was a brilliant character, deserving a lot more screen time... Like Q forbid that she had been a Wesley Crusher replacement. Oh nooo. Not that.

If/when they bring back Kirk it clearly can't be Shatner. So right now I vote (not that they are asking for votes) for Paul Wesley. One thing that always bother me is the way all the ships all seem to meet in space and oriented in the up position. It's not like they can see each other through a window and there is no gravitational reference from ship to ship (or is there?). You would think the M5 computer would realize this. In Star Trek 2 Spock did highlight this error in the way Khan maneuvered in the nebulae. But never really saw the 3D maneuvers again. I know the FX guys do this a little bit with fancy fly-bys and quick battle runs against a larger ship, but it still feels very 2D and always oriented up. I guess this is why the Borg are a cube or sphere. They are always right side up!

Laughs at all the Yanks getting confused by us Brits using Queens English version of Artefact over their misspelled US English Artifact. Seriously it doesn't take more then a minute to google it and realise BOTH spellings are correct LOL.

Well, you know the saying about Americans and Brits -- two people separated by a common language. I imagine the artefacts come in a lot of different colours (including grey) as well! I am American, but read lots of British novels. I can't believe how many people have never encountered a different spelling. After all, we've all heard Jean-Luc Picard say "shed-yule". We know Brits are different.🥸🧐

Genesis, check. Model of NX01, check, and... what was Dr Bashir doing? Is that an outtake? Was he gesturing a nice pair of tribbles? All this typing is making my Tendons of forefinger and vincula tendina hurt.

@@FirstDan2000 so he's talking about some technique that gives him lots of stamina for matches, he might even be saying it fills his lungs? But to me it just looks like he's pretending he's got big breasts 🤷‍♂️ and I was almost always use the most silly looking clips and this is Bashir at his finest.
