Traversing that frontier were submarines like the USS Pampanito, SS-383. Today, visitors to the Pampanito will find a broom attached to her conning tower, a strange badge of honor for those who accept all-or-nothing survival odds. I talked to the people aboard USS Pampanito from Wichita on the radio 20 years ago or so. I hope they still have the special event radio sessions! dah dah dit dit dit dit dit dit dah dah
