I’m taking a First Class train across the entirely of Australia. From the very North of Darwin all the way down to South Australia, and Adelaide. This is one of the world’s most iconic train journeys and in turn is the world’s longest regularly scheduled train (the Ghan operates up to 1000m in length!).
So what will I share with you? I’ll show you each of the three classes available, Economy, Business Class and First Class. I’m booked into First Class (also called Platinum Service). Here i’ll be able to show you the various facilities, ensuite shower room, lounge car and of course Australian dining onboard. What’s more as this is The Ghan Expedition service (only run South bound) we’ll get lot’s of time off train to explore more of Australia. I’ll take a private flight over Uluru and explore an Opal mining town where the residents live underground! So please come along, on one of the world’s greatest train journeys!

2:08 - Bedroom
4:48 - Dining
9:56 - Uluru flight
12:32 - Business Class

I love your videos, but I wish they were a little longer at times, especially with such an epic journey like this one. Maybe even broken into two parts so as not to seem overwhelming to viewers. The Ghan has an average cruising speed of 85km/h (53 miles) and 115km/h top speed (72 miles). A lot of people think this is just some train trip you zoom across from one end to the other - as there is 0 traffic this would take them 26 hours if they did it at top speed straight, and 35 if they cruised at the average speed - so it goes to show over the 96 hours or 4 days they really do make it worth while and a true experience and holiday not just a glorified train ticket.

"I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains, of ragged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains. I love her far horizons, i love her jewel-sea. Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me!" - Excerpt from 'My Country' a poem written by Dorothea Mackellar which perfectly encapsulates my home. Thank you Will for doing such a great job showing off our beautiful country to the world and so many of its quirks. I think for your next All-Aussie adventure, you should give a 'round the continent' cruise a go.
