I’ve been doing a self-study on Industry 4.0 for about a year. I haven’t encountered SWIR until now. Thanks. I’d be interested in Edmund Optics doing more coverage of it.

Please do a more in depth discussion on the intermediate optics in telecentric lenses. I would like to also understand what factors influence working distance and how it can be maximized.

@@edmundoptics thank you! I am homeschooling my kids and we made some telecentric lenses using Fresnel lenses as the front lens group. We are correcting barrel distortion with OpenCV, take three separate exposures for each primary color, also use separate focal point and calibration matrix for each. The main thing we don’t understand is what the intermediate optics do, like why the thick lens? Also we don’t understand what factors influence working distance, the expected depth of focus, etc. We found the info on the link helpful earlier in our quest but we want to take it to the next level.
