I get that you are trying to be empowering & encouraging to love ones natural self… and I appreciate that… I just think that perhaps you could’ve worded it a little less like you’re telling ppl what to do. Everyone’s experience & hair is different, it’s personal and it allows ppl to express themselves. We’re not talking plastic surgery here. For me personally, I just got my 1st greys. Not enough to rock the grey & I’m in my 40’s & have zero interest in aging myself prematurely purposely. Also, ppl with color can’t just stop. You have to at least get it back to a natural color that’ll grow out nicely. So, I as respectfully as possible, disagree with the notion that you should be commenting on what ppl “should” do with their own bodies, which includes hair. “They” arent doing anything to my pockets. I get my hair done once a year on my bday. For me. Actually it’s my yearly bday gift from my mother and I quite like the feeling. It’s a lovelly gift & self care to feel your best as you try to settle into accepting your getting older is a loving and kind thing to do for yourself. What $ leaves my pockets is my own choice, I m far too grown to feel pressured to even wash my hair if I don’t feel like it. Cant speak for everyone else but I suspect most ppl feel the same.
