+Trendy Tree thanks Ginny! Do you think I could make this out of the deco mesh using the same technique? I want to make for my front door which is under an overhang. . . Would the leaves lie the same with the deco mesh?
@trendytree
@trendytree 8 жыл бұрын
+Donna Doble-Brown Yes. You can make it out of 10" Deco Poly Mesh, but buy extra mesh to allow for more petals, the coverage isn't quite as good as the paper and you may need more petals, it's a little stiffer to work with but you can do. Browse through these tutorials, I think there is one in there somewhere that we did using plain mesh. www.trendytree.com/tutorials

@trendytree
@trendytree 8 жыл бұрын
+maryann Cintolo THanks for watching. Yes, we've make it with regular deco poly mesh and it does take a few more petals to get good coverage since the mesh is not quite as thick. It also makes up well using the poly burlap mesh, which resembles paper mesh, but is made of all polypropylene.

We haven't used pure deco mesh for one, but we did one out of a combination of poly mesh with a burlap thread through it. We did have a customer who made one out of pure poly mesh and it turned out fine...some raveling...but you have that with most anything. Love the idea of the clothes pin! Loved the wreath!!!! It looked very simple to make. When you were mentioning walking on old converter railway to walking trails it sounded like my hometown in Martinsville, Virginia. What was the center in the sunflower? Thanks!
@trendytree
@trendytree 10 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching))) The center was made from a round piece of cardboard covered in brown Deco Paper Mesh. But we've made other flower wreaths since this one and did them on a small frame and used balls on a wire for the center. The last one we did we halved a 4" ornament ball for the center. Here's a link to the last one and a short video with the alternative center: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fsudapSoyL2cpmw.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/geB1hrOjz6e2o6s.html

Thanks for watching. This was our first flower video and nowadays we used the "stacked wreath" method and use a 24" wreath for the green to make it fuller and the 10" wreath for the flower petals. I've never used that brand of mesh, but we have several tutorials making the flower wreath out of paper mesh, poly mesh or fabric mesh. We also have a tutorial were we tested several products to spray a finished wreath, but we really never use any of them. We just did a test to see how they would perform to help with raveling. Here's a link to our tutorials: www.trendytree.com/tutorials-ebooks

We sell them on Trendy Tree, but we're out of the black ones right now, we have more coming. We have some chocolate and gold ones....and some single black balls on a wire that would work the same way.

I absolutely loved this video. I know you said that you could use the paper or the regular deco mesh but does it come out at well with the regular deco mesh? Also when you sell a wreath like this particular one how much do you usually sell it for? If you don't mind me asking you that one...

Thank you Nancy))) We haven't tried this style yet with regular Deco Poly Mesh, we'll have to try it and see how it goes. Currently we don't create any wreaths for sale, we just make them for tutorials or personal use. But we hear from our customers that pricing really depends on the region. You certainly have to account for the products your time involved.

This one was made with paper mesh and it does ravel quite a bit. But we have experimented with spraying the edges with Elmer's Craft Bond Spray Adhesive and that does help

Hi there, this is my first time viewing your tutorial and I love it; found it very helpful but I need to know (since I'm new at this), what did you use to hang the wreath up? Did you make something or you bought a wreath hanger?
@trendytree
@trendytree 7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching. The work wreaths don't have a hanger on them, so we make one out of a couple of large zip ties. (cable ties)

Thank you for watching and we're happy to have a new subscriber))) Here's a link to our tutorials that are posted on the website blog. This is one of our older ones and I think we're out of the lime green paper mesh right now but you can make the leaves out of green of another color paper mesh or green poly mesh. You would also have to find something else for the center since the black balls we used are no longer available from the supplier. Here's the link: www.trendytree.com/tutorials

Would you recommend using poly mesh to make this so it could stand the weather better??
@trendytree
@trendytree 10 жыл бұрын
I've tried making one out of plain poly and it didn't quite take on the shape I wanted, but it might still work, it seems a little stiff and the petals wanted to spread out instead of laying down like the paper mesh. But I'm going to try a combination poly/burlap roll and see how that works, it's a little softer. Here's a link: www.trendytree.com/deco-poly-mesh-burlap-and-paper/10-natural-burlap-and-daffodil-yellow-poly-mesh-roll.html

tudivinotesoro Thank you for watching. Here's a link to a tutorial we did using a combination poly mesh with a jute thread, we're out of the orange color, but have some other colors in stock, and you can also use regular Deco Poly Mesh in any color in the 10" width. Poly Mesh is just a little stiffer to work with, but it works. www.trendytree.com/blog/orange-polyjute-mesh-flower-video-tutorial-trendy-tree/

Hello!! This is super cute. Can't wait to try it. It's a fabulous idea and I already enjoy making deco mesh wreaths! I have two questions 1. What is the difference between a pencil wire and a regular one I buy at Michaels? 2. What is the difference between the deco mesh and this paper mesh you're using? Thanks!!
@trendytree
@trendytree 10 жыл бұрын
rainbowsp0rk Thank you for watching. I'm not sure what kind of wreaths they sell at Michaels.....but the primary difference between Pencil Wreath and Regular Work Wreath that we sell, is just the size of the twists. The Pencil Wreath twist is about the diameter of a pencil and the Regular Work Wreath twist is about the size of a limb on an artificial Christmas tree. Deco Mesh usually refers to Deco Poly Mesh which is a synthetic plastic. Paper mesh, is made from paper, has a thicker texture and sort of resembles the weave of burlap.Jeannie

Jeffrey Daniels Thanks for watching Jeffrey. The only time we've cut 21" was when we only need a few pieces. The more cut edges, them more raveling you have.

I am very interested in making wreaths. Can you explain the differences in mesh. I have seen some peple talking about deco mesh and geo mesh. Are those the only ones and what are the differences? Thank you and I love watching your tutorials. I am from Louisiana where are you from. Your voice sounds south but definitely not as southern as me. Lol By the way you are great

Thank you for watching! We have a tutorial, it's older, but it explains the differences between mesh products. Course we've added lots of new products since that video was made so it needs updating. But there is also one that explains the different type of work wreaths. Just go to Trendy Tree and click on "Tutorials" at the top of the website and browse them through. If I send you the link, KZfaq will call it spam. And Geo Mesh is just a brand name like Deco Poly Mesh.
