I used elk 101 for a long time. Stopped by Waldrons and grabbed a few different reeds to try and man that black BRO reed is magic! Sling shot engaged!

Thanks Trent... I've been practicing with four elk calls .... and it really is all about practice, practice, practice. Sometimes it's a mess.... but the longer I practice, the better it sounds. I've watched lots and lots of the BRO videos... practicing my calls WHILE watching/hearing you guys calling. It's made a huge difference... even before I found and watched the instructional videos you each have done. Sincerely, Trent... you and Treavor are especially inspiring for me! I am 67 yrs old and I really appreciate you all. I'd love to hunt with you!

Thanks Trent. It's refreshing to see someone else has the same initial struggles that I had when I first started. It was with your reed. But like you say practice, practice, practice makes all the difference. I got the kill pack at the Portland show and now I don't know how I did without for so long. I sadly was once a Doug Flutie bugler but have since moved on. Keep em coming boys. #IISY

Humble as always. I’ve watched nearly all your videos and you always seem to get bulls in for people, so seems to me you’re doing something right. Watching your Land of the Free and now these calling videos has me so fired up for early elk season!!

Your honesty, and the raw feel to all of your guy's video are awesome. It's just like a friend giving you the low down on how to call. Love it. Keep the videos coming.

Great video! Your honesty and transparency is refreshing. When I first started turkey hunting, everybody made it sound like you have to be perfect.....until you get out in the woods and hear the real deal...lol! Like you said, mimic what you hear and be conscious of what will work and not work. Seriously enjoying all of your content! Thanks so much!

I really like that you showed us how it sounds without the bugle tube first. ai've watched a lot of guys bugling before, but it was hard to tell what sound to make with the reed. Well done!!!

I enjoyed watching your whole series. I am going on my first Elk hunt in Washington with a couple Marine buddies of mine this September. Goal is to get a bull on the ground but like you guys said multiple times its not about the kill. Its more about getting together with my brothers and having a great time. Going to try and call a little while in the woods so a lot more practicing for me. Look forward to seeing more from you guys.

It helped me!!! Makes me feel way better about how I sound. I've only started to learn to use calls in the last month or so and feel I'm getting much better. Very glad to hear of your struggles, only for the fact I know I'm not far off from where I need to be.

A very good video for anyone new to Elk calling or just wanting to hear another approach to Elk calling, and although i am not new to elk calling, i can honestly say i got several good take aways from this video. Truly appreciate your candor and humility, calling is one thing, but calling well (consistently) is what i found to be the most difficult challenge over the years. I practice ALOT year round (drives my wife crazy), but i've recognized myself getting better in the woods every year (and recognizing my many and countless mistakes). I have been DIY - Archery Elk hunting now for 11 years straight (i just sat waterholes and spot and stalked for 1st 4 years and because i was too worried i would scare every animal in the woods away for 5 miles). Once i dedicated myself to consistently practicing, I have really started to reap the rewards of all that practicing, now each time i have called Elk in, my confidence increases more and more. Thank you for sharing.....sure wish this video was around 10 years ago, lol. Happy and safe hunting this fall fellas.

Ordered the kill pack on Christmas - lost the black reed, left 1 call on the dash of my truck and the sun melted it & the last the blue one's latex finally formed holes...... I was forcing tons of air with alot of pressure over all the calls to teach myself how to use them..... Easily learned how to make all sounds & throw the sounds in different directions..... Each call def made their own tunes

I got your " Cat Road shuffle" last week. I love the option of the 3 reeds. Blue works the best for me. Just trial and error blowing them in the shop until season. Good thing I work alone! Nothing like fixing dead powerstroke diesels , doing brake jobs & tune ups sounding like wounded elk. Good luck this season!

I also had a hard time getting my reed to seal. I learned threw trial and error that if I rotate my reed to about a 30° angle that it seals great, sounds great, consistent and I dont need near as much air to bugle now. Might be worth a try if you haven't already.

I’ve never had luck using a reed. But after this season I was determined to get it down. I probably purchased almost 30 different reeds. I purchased the bro combo package. They just fit my mouth perfect. And super easy to blow. Been practicing since September. Now making it sing. Ordered a second set. I’m sure I’ll wear them out by next year. Great calls.

Trent, or anyone else, can you tell me where to find that exact binocular pack? I've been wanting that same grey one with the tan straps since watching Land of the free.. So i don't know how many of you have seen Freddy Mercurys mouth but thats the best way to get range with your calling i think, whatever your methods are i think just make your mouth as big as possible and you will find the most range and control with your calls.

Thats a tough time of year to call one in but it all depends on his demeanor. Some cows come into season way later than others. So there's always a chance.

Trent, stop talking about how horrible of a caller you are and just start . I'm watching a calling video to learn how to call elk...not how to talk myself out of calling. Did you forget? You called in a monster bull for world champion caller, Cory Jacobson. That's an opportunity that verifies that you're much better than you think you are. Love ya, bro.
