For face, I switch between Kiehl’s barrier cream, PTR niacinamide cream, Skin Fix peptide cream. I apply tretinoin 3X a week n every night for underneath my eyes. If ur worried about sensitivity, try the sandwich method. Moisturize, tretinoin, moisturize or switch to a lower dosage if sensitivity occurs. Consistency is key. Please be sure to use a sunscreen everyday. Lastly, consult with ur dermatologist if u have any doubts or concerns. Good luck!

I used tretinoin under eyes for a brief period, id say twice weekly for two weeks. My eyes were so painfully dry that i had to have a neighbor drive me to eye specialist. I couldn't read, my vision was so blurry and wore sunglasses even indoors. It took a year of periodic treatments with laser to heat up meibomian glands and express them to become liquid again. My left eye still gas problems. I will Never use it again! I had used retinol serum for a year previously with no issues.

When I do use my Tretinoin I'll use a serum and eye gel first and do the sandwich method. It seems to work well for me! I’ve been using tret around my entire eye without issues for over three years now. Like I don’t make a point of applying it to my eye lid the same way I do along the orbital bone, but some of the cream is definitely getting onto my eyelid as I rub it in everywhere else along my eye socket. I haven’t experienced any sensitivity or side effects there. The only part of my face that I’ve ever gotten sensitive from tret use has actually been my forehead, and I assume that that’s just because that’s the part of my face that’s always been the most dry. I can even apply straight to neck (which Dr. Idris has mentioned she has issues with) without any problem. As far as my neck’s concerned, it may as well be just another layer on moisturizer.

I learned the hard way NOT to put tret on my eyes and I wasn't even intentionally putting it there 😂. It happened because I would put it on the bridge of my nose and then wear glasses before bed (I need glasses cuz I'm blind as a bat without them). I guess the glasses made it easier for the tret to transfer onto my eyelids and I had dry, scaly patches on the inner corners of my eyelids for months until i figured out what i was doing wrong 🙃 My eyelids have thankfully gone back to normal since i stopped applying tret on my nose bridge.

I have no problem using tret around my eyes. Of course I’m careful not to get it IN my eyes or near the water-line. Fore me there is no ‘explosion’ whatsoever. HOWEVER, the same cannot be said for my neck. My neck HATES retinoids with a passion. No tret for my neck or I pay a very high and painful price.

The problem is creams can migrate to the Meibomian Glands so it's important to keep lash area clear of cream or even apply a light eye cream first under the lashes to prevent the migration of retinol.

I’ve used it sparingly under my eyes. It doesn’t sting or hurt. It seems to make the skin firmer. I use an eye cream too.

I thought retinol was supposed to help with wrinkles. Im 24 so I really don’t want to get eye wrinkles so I used retinol around my eyes 2x a week (+ my whole face) and I hated my life , after 3 uses or so it started to irritate my eyes and it turned a dark shade cause I burned the skin around my eyes with it! Thankfully it went away after a couple of weeks . Now when I use retinol I don’t use it around my eyes anymore (sorry for my bad English , it’s not my first language)

You can use it around your eyes, just don’t get it to close and def use like Vaseline before hand. Or something. The sandwich method people here were talking about. But yea similar experience. My eyes were super dry for a bit I put it directly on my eyes

I guess we all react differently to certain medication but like others here I was left with scarly patches in the inner corners of my eyelids still 12+ months on 😢 they are very sensitive now and itchy and sore. I believe I may of used a tad to much or it just doesn’t agree with my skin Retinols. I used a well know brand too. only used it bcs a older lady from work kept telling me I looked ropy for a girl my age not quite 20. I had slight puffiness to start with and dark circles from childhood due lack of sleep. I barely wear makeup too as my skin is Amazing on my face apart from the panda eyes. Wish I never tried 😭

The only time retinol eye cream seems to dehydrate the skin on my eyes (I use it on the upper eyelid as well) is when I top it with vaseline. Let me tell you, vaseline intensifies retinol's effect SO MUCH for me.

My eye under eye cream contains 0.1% tretinoin. I also use artificial tears. A worthwhile trade off for me. Also, mixing with lotion helps if it's too harsh, oh, and Vaseline is AMAZING!

Idk this so I have used it around my eyes since I started using retinol. Luckily, I never had an issue I guess. I am careful when applying anything around my eyes thou and I never get too close to the lash because I am terrified of getting stuff in my eyes especially product that could burn.

I use .1% Tretinoin cream around my eyes and on my eyelids with Shisedo eye cream and it works great! I get peeling and my eyelids look almost lifted after about a year of doing this. I did use retinol products on my eyes for years before this though, so I’m sure that’s helped prime my eyes for the intensity of straight Tretinoin.
