That depended on a human, too. When Death desperately swallowed the Key he absorbed the residual Hell energy that was in the Infinite Corridor, growing to his immense size and power. Had Saint-Germaine not opened the Corridor he couldn't have pulled any of that. Of course, lacking internal organs, the Key fell right back out of him so Saint-Germaine could bail Trevor out as his very final act.

@@NoGround94 death does not mean deathangel azrael, this is the death the personification of the death, shinigami in japanese or reaper. In the lore of Castlevania is death a kind demon.

Death’s little “heh” at the beginning is actually rather charming. The man’s tired and pissed, get enjoyment where you can i suppose. Also if you follow game logic during their fight. Death has around 20 hp during the beginning of the fight. Trevor has 16. He takes ~5 hits, death dealing maybe 3-4 damage each hit, trevor pops a sort of regen and gives death maybe three or four easy hits, all one damage. Each special attack does 2, and in this scene he hits death 8 times. He dealt 20. They legit had an ingame bossfight

Also shows how during the fight with Dracula after a single hit (yes it looked like he was unphased) he was not only pissed, but he also immediately sent out one of his most powerful attacks. Enough special attacks from that whip and you will accrue damage.

Trevor made it clear early in the season that "Death" isn't _actually_ death. Death is just what happens when bodies become so damaged that they can't hold their souls. This... thing just eats souls and looks creepy.

As others have said, Death is really just a old af being who eats souls as they die. Trevor says it outright and we don't have much reason to doubt him. "You dont make anything you dont live, you just eat and hide". Death is just a name this very powerful being gave itself. In the games death usually serves dracula anyway. People will die all the same, all death did was consume their souls on the way out.

A lot of people complained about that. It was completely unnecessary and basically killed the mood of a lot of otherwise great scenes. And it got worse with every new season, despite the action getting better.

@@thundererodinson1668 - Because popping Castlevania into your NES, SNES, or any system and seeing them say "Well Fuckity Fuck Fuck Fuck!" seems totally legit to you? Wouldn't seem the least bit weird? Dumb? Cringe? There's a reason none of that stuff existed in the game scripts even as barren as they were. It made little sense. It makes even less sense in the TV show. It's not even "edgy" at that point. It's just ridiculous.

Yeah, there’s way less swearing in Symphony of the Night by Death or Dracula, but it nonetheless sounds pretty intimidating in the Mobile phone version, both in English and Japanese. Death tells Alucard ,”You petulant little child, always trying to defy your father?” The other badass line, “Shaft, you belong in the deepest recesses of Hell, along with all the traitors and dishonorable!” I mean the biggest problem to me is it didn’t sound like Old Shakespearean English which hurt my immersion.

While it's animated well from a story perspective this is a really poor plot turn. The main bad guy, is defeated by a mguffin magic dagger that was picked up in pieces over multiple episodes over multiple locations seemingly out of pure coincidence. The dagger basically gets no explanation, and ends the main final conflict. Again the animation is 10/10, but if it wasn't I think a lot of people would notice how stupid this is
