It's smart, and a power move. If you look at any late night host's interviews of celebs they always control the conversation. But this is a late night host interviewing a late night host. So it's truly a power struggle, and they both understand the dynamic. Trevor Noah knows this, dominated the conversation while also being very polite and very generous towards Fallon (also a power move) to promote himself and his plug.
