That's the "diff" between this (real voice acting) and the cheap line reading you get nowadays (at least when it comes to localisation dubs of any series/movie which was far superior in the past when they hired actual actors). The way you act (posture, mimics, ...) really translates into your voice if done correctly.

Bec that's how it is irl lol. My best friend is Japanese and when her and her mom speak it sounds like they're always angry and yelling.
@heimdal83 жыл бұрын
I think it’s like this: chinese has got much more of a ”voice melody”. The pitch rises and falls and you emphasize the vowles differently as you speak. Japanese, on the other hand, is very neutral. You are not supposed to put extra emphasis on any vowel but rather pronouce everything the same. This is what causes japanese to sound kind of cold and detached to western ears.
@kejiri35933 жыл бұрын
Japanese is more dramatic but, Chinese never sits well with me, its very pitch up and down voice. But the written language is tough so there is that

+Michael Persico There may well be one now, but as recently as early 2000s when I was doing studio voice work, the only way you could take the pitch higher is by speeding it up. Which gave you the Chipmunks sound after. So it was a two to four-step process. Seems like digital technology has done away with all those steps.
