It has a different vibe. The original is sleek. The Trey Songz version sounds like a celebration. The Jacob Banks version sounds tragic.

No hate on Trey but the original really fit the tone of the show with its beat and vocals but the new one doesn’t fit at all, especially with what happens in the new season. No spoilers but hearing the new song and then cutting to the events of the new season is like getting a slap in the face.

They both sound dope to me. Just that Trey's version is more upbeat so it gives off a happier vibe. Give it time and people would have gotten accustomed to it. Joe's version imo fit the overall vibe of the show. But I get why they made the change to Trey's version.
