Tri Rail, Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport FLL to Miami International Airport MIA, 4K

Tri Rail is a South Florida Commuter Rail Line that serves West Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade Counties. This commuter rail (train model: EMD PRLX F40PH-3C; train coach: Bombardier Bi-level train) is operated by South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA). In this video, I start at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and end at Miami International Airport (MIA) using Tri Rail. This journey took me around 1 hour and 30 minutes. As of 2022, the one way full fare is $3.75 (per person; for more information about fares, see below this description section at step 3).
If you have questions about this journey, please let me know at the comment section of this video. Also, in my opinion, if you are transferring to MIA Airport, please give yourself 4 hours (or more) of traveling. If you're going to make a connection in less than 3 hours, it is not recommended because train could arrive late. Also, don't forget to give this video a LIKE!

7 STEPS TO TRAVEL FROM FLL AIRPORT TO MIA AIRPORT:
1) Board a Tri Rail Shuttle (01:50)
At FLL Airport, there is a free Tri Rail Shuttle bus that stops at Terminals 1 and 4. There is no cost to ride the shuttle bus. Here is the schedule for the Tri Rail Shuttle bus:

2) Shuttle Arriving to Fort Lauderdale Airport Station
When the shuttle bus arrives to Fort Lauderdale Airport Station. The shuttle ride to the Fort Lauderdale Airport Station is around 10-15 minutes. For more information about this station, visit the station webpage at: www.tri-rail.com/stations/For...
3) Pay the fare (09:55)
As of 2022, the full fare one way ride from Fort Lauderdale Airport Station (zone 2) to Miami Airport Station is $3.75. For more information about Tri Rail fares, please visit their webpage at: www.tri-rail.com/pages/view/f...
4) Board the southbound train on Track 1 (11:00)
Most of the time, Tri Rail trains arrive every hour. To view the schedule visit the Tri Rail Train Schedule webpage: www.tri-rail.com/pages/view/p...
5) Ride the southbound train
The ride is around 45 minutes between Fort Lauderdale Airport Station to Miami Airport Station. Some of the rail cars have restrooms at the first floor. Also, there are luggage storage at the first floor as well. This train offers free WiFi but I haven't found an electrical outlet to charge your electronics/phones.
6) Get off at Miami Airport Station (32:30)
At the station, if you have an Easy Card (Miami-Dade Transit Official Fare Card), tap again to exit. If you do not tap, Tri Rail will assume that you've travel the full route (and they may deduct $8.75 from your fare card balance). If you have a paper ticket, you may continue to go upstairs to MIA Mover (there is no need to validate).
7) Go upstairs to transfer the MIA Mover (35:05)

This is so helpful. FLL has been my home airport for decades but I couldn’t tell you where to get on the tri rail, now I need to for my flight this week and this came in handy for sure.

Some of the newer carriages do have scattered electrical outlets, but it seemed like you were on one of the older cars. I’ll also be taking Tri-Rail to Miami Airport over the summer

Thank you! I believe it was around 3 hours. If the train waited for the shuttle bus, it could’ve been almost 2 hours.

Sí, hay 6 estaciones entre Fort Lauderdale Airport y Miami Airport. Los 6 estaciones son: Sheridan, Hollywood, Golden Glades, Opa-Loka, Metrorail Transfer y Hialeah Market. I am planning to take this train on October 30 2023,do they stop at Terminal 2 and 3? and also what denomination of cash the machine except,when I buy the train fare?
