Speaking to them and the next thing they are working on is a feature to reorientate the xyz position so you can have your origin set before exporting

In the transform operator part of edit mode, how do you keep make sure the selected scan you want to manipulate stays selected. I keep having other scans move instead of the one highlighted. I'm trying to manual move my scans to align them since the "manual" points system isn't doing the job.

Typically I will hide all layers but the two im working with (the base and the one I want to move). I actually did a video on that already :) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ZrNiqKyJyMWlmJ8.html

Like I said, the "Manual align" with points doesn't align the two. It gets really close but I'm working with a large object that has over 15 scans. So I'm trying to use transform to align them after the Manual align gets them close. But it keeps moving the scan that isn't selected when in transform mode. It does this all the time, multiple sessions. It is a hit or miss thing. I can't hide the other scan because then I won't be able to see what I'm trying to transform/align the scan to. I'm trying to figure out is there a key other than Alt I should be pressing or someway to make sure it is going to only transform the one scan that is highlighted. OR is this another bug that hasn't been fixed since last year. I've been having this trouble since Oct. 2022. Anyone else have this problem?

@@cjohn64 ill have to open the app and check it out, its been awhile. Also to consider that sometimes the alignment doesnt look perfect but after processing it fixes it up better. If its way out it will cause issues though but close enough and it figures it out. The moving part I need to look at to see exactly what you mean.

Hello, Can you help me? I have this but on Mac and I am having trouble with the alignment cause I don´t know how to Move the object away. You say u use (windows) ALT click middle button but on the MAC magic mouse there is no ALT or middle button.. what are the keys for a MAC?

Does this version still have an agressive auto fill holes when fusing point clouds? This is one of the main issues I had with the software

Quite possibly yes. I think that is always going to be an issue.

@@DraftID PLY export is a step forwards though. Can clean up point clouds in other software but not exactly am advanced technique

Their server isn't allowing connection long enough to download the newest version... been trying for a while now, and it keeps failing from their end. 'No Permissions' on download failure. Just a heads up.

How do you manually align multiplayer scans

You can only align 2 scan layers at a time. That is why I usually make my first layer my "base layer" and align each layer to it. Eg 2 to 1, 3 to 1, 4 to 1 etc.

@@DraftID I've been trying that but I have one project with about 6 layers and by the time I align all of them to layer 1 they are all out of alignment again. Someone said there is a way to "pin" them in place but I don't know where that is in the newest update.

@@DaleyKreations I'm not aware of a pinning function but havent checked if there is a new release that allows that. As long as you are selecting to layers in the right order (eg make everything align to the first layer) they shouldnt go out of alignment unless you are hitting auto align which will try to do all of them.
