“But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away”. (NIV) Mark 4:7. The word of God is like the two edge sword, it will divide you from living in the the world or living in Christ, or you can sit the on the fence (but not for very long). People (in general) don’t want to be challenged and therefore don’t want Christian’s around them, and that’s where the persecution comes in.
