The thing im most excited about from this game is that the Shield bug will not exist, meaning that its worth it to make Duran any Light branch class.

I honestly think Chrono Trigger is perfect as-is. They definitely need to put out the SNES or DS version on modern platforms though. And the SNES or GBA version of FFVI.

What's the point ? I think a game that never got enough budget support like Xenogears deserve it more, because they can do something even better than the original. Chrono trigger remake would just be another remake with prettier graphics but that's not so exciting. I would even argue that most people would prefer to play the original

@@alucardio i loved xenogears but its now impossible to have a remake of it. The creators are now on a different company. Worse was that their departure was very bitter. I think up to this day they still have hatred left to Square.

Looks absolutely amazing. SD3 is my favourite game of all time and I'm replaying it now for maybe the 30th time, or more. I can't wait for the remake to hit and give a fresh perspective.

I hope this series does well, I would really like a remake of Legend of Mana. I love that game, it was one of the first games I owned and my introduction to the Mana Series. The art and music was so beautiful.

If you really like Legend Of Mana you won't request a garbage 3D Unity remake... You guys are morons, Legend of Mana is a artistic masterpiece and actual SQUAREENIX will never do something that honor the source material, so stop asking for remake and don't buy these trash cash grabs.

Legend of mana had some serious issues for sure im a long time mana fan. Mana 2 and 3 are million times better than Legend of mana. This is a remake of the third game. Legend of mana had great graphics and music but thats it. Very clunky controls and gameplay and a weird story progression.

Boondock FFVII Reimagening is a 5 hours episode of a legendary original Game bloated to a 40 hours game for monetary reasons. It doesn’t hold a candle to this complete and trustful remake.

It is possible. Falcom patched the PC version of their action RPG Ys VIII to have 2 player co-op. They are a much smaller studio than most of Square Enix's divisions. If they can patch it in, so can Square Enix.

I am SOOOO looking forward to playing this, as Seiken Densetsu 3 English ROM was my favorite SNES game. Having finished DQ11 on the Switch a couple weeks ago, I am ready for the next big epic from Square! I wish they'd do a Chrono Collection of Trigger and Cross in HD, sort of like what happed with Grandia 1 and 2.

I still get chills when I see this and I'll never forget my initial reaction. I saw the Square Enix logo. Saw the tree and the sword. Figured I was looking at a new Mana game, and that was interesting enough. But then Duran popped up on the screen and my eyes almost popped out of my head. I've gone through Seiken Densetsu 3 many times in the past and I felt as though that game was a lost treasure that would never get the recognition it truly deserved - at least not in the US. And seeing that it was being fully remade was like being hit by a wave of excitement.

This is looking a LOT better than I expected. The SoM was alright but needed the kinds of modernized updates that Trials of Mana is getting. Also sounds like the music is keeping in close with the original 👌

At least SoM remake had a 3players option, while next month's Trials of Mana won't even allow for 2players sadly... not sure why "modernization" means overlooking core gameplay elements which have made the series unique~

Fun fact: The original version of this game Seiken Desetsu 3 on the Super Famicom/SNES was only release in Japan and it never came out overseas. This remake will be the first time this game has officially been release outside of Japan not counting roms.

@@Vecilias They haven't been asked, but everywhere I look has it as Single Player only. Which is a huge bummer. I would've preferred online co-op, but even local would've been better than nothing. Looks like we didn't even get that.

I'm really touched by squarenix's lately approach with their classic franchises. Kinda get emotional sometimes, for real. I really really hope this game turns into a hit. mana games are among my favorites of all time. this in snes was mindblowing for me and played it at ps2 generation.

interesting enough this is a ground-up rebuild of a SNES game that only recently became available in us with the collection of mana. I played the original and it was considerably less fluid then this looks. also when you choose your characters to get a spellcaster they are op.

I just played the demo and I was pretty impressed. The music and sound effects gave me nostalgia while the new gameplay and improvements don't take away from the original experience. I might have to get this for old times sake...

This kind of commitment is what I wish the Secret of Mana remake had been like. I’m so glad they still greenlit this despite how poorly the first attempt was received. I might not get it right at launch, but I’m sure I will pick this up and enjoy the hell out of it.

I’ve never beaten this game. I’ve made it all the way to the end several times, but I’ve always been worried that somehow beating the final boss is going to make me not want to replay it. Weird, I know, but I always assumed this series was dead, so I didn’t want to lose that feeling of awe and adventure.

Visuals and gameplay looks amazing so far. The character stats make them seem WAY over-powered compared to the stat system in the original SNES/SFC Seiken Densetsu 3. I hope the enemies scale up their defense and such so they aren't total push overs...

I'm definitely getting this. This looks AMAZING. Why don't you remake more of your classic JRPGs including the FF series with graphics like this? They're perfect!

Ryker because they have to update the story, basically it’s a new game because game story back then we’re pretty much for kids, now we’ve all grown up, we expect more. So they’ll need to spend more people, more time and money to invest in remaking old games for modern platform.

I just finished this game (Secret of Mana 2) on my real SNES with main character as Hawkey...now I'm looking forward for this remake to play different story with Kevin. This game is a reason for me to buy Nintendo Switch ;)

This game looks very promising, and very simple and enjoyable to play. Also, I believe I've seen that player enhancement system before (Tales of Hearts R). Nothing wrong with that.

First playthrough team? Think of Duran (main), Lyse and Angela Will probably go with Duran on Light/Dark. Lyse will go for the multi-boost (I think it is Light/Dark), while Angela will be a full offensive magic unit (I think it will go dark).

Only issue with having Duran and Angela is the Dragon dungeon, that place simply isn't fun in the original.

@@shivasthong4924 Maybe not, but it's got my fav music of all the final dungeons so I'll definitely be maining Angela to go there on my first playthrough of the remake. I'm thinking Angela/Hawkeye/Riesz Don't know what my final classes will be but I'm thinking Light/Dark/Light for the first class change on each. It'll depend how things have changed for the remake which final classes I'll want to go fo, I think.

I'm really hoping Square didn't JRPG this. But I'm glad to see this got it's fully remake that it deserved. I hope they keep up and make a new Seiken Densetsu main-line game.
