Thank you for your kind words! Just posted it for my kids to learn a little prior to our season starting. It worked out quite well.

Chadc5000 There was a couch in my town that taught the same offense, he went 10-0 for two straight seasons, I taught pick and role, he beat my team that year by 30 points, I coached two 3 seasons, that next season, taughted this same offense to the same kids and went 7-3. It works!

Super helpful, thanks Coach! I lost 2 offensive studs from last year's championship team and now I have a few coming back and a ton of rookies. After last season knowing I was going to lose those 2 kids I knew I was going to have to come up with a new offensive scheme to get everyone involved and everyone moving. Thanks for the vid!! Good luck this season.

when I was in early 8th grade me and my teammates ran triangle offense without realizing it and our coach was like "do you guys know what triangle offense is? well that's what you're doing out there." it was pretty cool

were you coached by me? lol I did the same with my team a few years ago.

Coach Chad love your videos and how you explain them. I wanted to know if this triangle offense would work with a 3-2 or 2-3 zone defense. Also do you think 2nd graders can learn this offensive motion. Thanks

How well has this worked for you? Are 6&7th graders able to pick it up? Any tips for keeping triangle O simple for this age group?

Hey Chad, so what is the other options if the 1 passes to the corner first? 5 would screen 4, 4 off the screen then 5 rolls back to the ball?
@VangoghC5C6 жыл бұрын
The first screen by 5 if its a good screen should be a lay up. If they switch then the 5 could roll to the rightside seal his guy and he has a lay up. If both defenders chase 1.5 flashes inside foul jumper. 3s defender would help 3 would cut. And out of that ball in 5s hand at foul line. Then 4 could screen 3 for a curl. If 3 doesnt get it pops to top of key. 4 rolls. Set it up again on opposite side. Tons of options but alot going on.
@justinstyles59610 жыл бұрын
how does option 3 work if there is no screen from the 5? of that happens he's rolling on top of the four???

Hey Chad, I think I have this down pat. However getting my kids to stick to it is another issue. I am fine saying it is a coaching issue and personally taking the blame but I would like to see my kids run it. In my opinion it teaches the kids to read and react and above all to keep moving instead of standing around. My issue is when the kids get tight D outside the perimeter they then abandon it instead of getting creative and working through it. Another hurdle I have is 7 players instead of 10 to teach it to. Any suggestions for helping coach it effectively? My only other issue is the kids are not solid ball handlers so they panic. However it sounds like you coach young kids to, so I am hoping for some insight. Thanks in advance.

Mr. Gast Do your opposing teams play man-to-man or zone?
@nickgast92217 жыл бұрын
They play man to man and there is no room for those girls to even breathe. I had another game tonight. It went the same way. A tough spot for me is that I have poor ball handling all around on the team, so my girls confidence is not there to protect the ball. On top of that I have only ran 7 practices so far in 3 weeks - so the time to develop the girls through drills and trial and error has not been adequate. Feels like I am laying out a laundry list of excuses, but those are the facts thus far. I might have come to the conclusion that I need ball screens in order to run an effective offense. However I love the movement and options in the triangle. I have been coaching for 3 years now and just need to dig my heals in and keep learning more - I love the game and always will. But I am still a hungry rookie. :) I am very thankful that you are taking the time to get back to me. Your time is much appreciated.

What are some good offenses to run against a 2-1-2?
@someguy007a5 жыл бұрын
This has potential, the only issue is that player 2 hasn't had a screen to make them open to make a clean pass, the defender is always between 2 and the receivers. What seems better is if 4 set a screen for 2, then 2 rolled off of four towards 1, received pass from 1, then 1 went off of 5 for the clean pass from 2 to 1 or 5 on the roll.

We went undefeated that year, more than doubling the total scores of our competitors overall. Yep, it had potential!

can you tell me if there are any college teams that run the triangle offense regularly and or solely?
@kdills447 жыл бұрын
This has worked very well for my youth team but lately, the opponent has put pressure on the 1 before we can get set up, while playing tight on the 2, 3 and 4 around the perimeter and forcing us into bad passes. Thoughts?
@bballcoachallen6 жыл бұрын
switch it up and run a few other plays for a while
@youdagoob6 жыл бұрын
Have other players bring the ball up to start. It gives the D a different look. I have players that think it is solely their role to handle the ball. It makes our offense stale and predictable, resulting in many turnovers. When I sub them out after they refuse to listen to me and someone new brings the ball up... lo and behold... the offense starts working again.

Coach Chad can this work against a zone defense

Coach, is there a chance you could send me or make a video that shows what the offense would look like when it continues if the first looks aren't there? I could provide my email to you if you would like?
@warrennicholl13823 жыл бұрын
Hi, Jason. The most important point to stress to players regarding continuity of the offense is to fill the wing, corner, and low post positions on the side of the court where the ball is, as well as the other two positions. For example, when the ball is at the right wing, the right corner and right low post positions need to be filled. Also, another point to stress is it doesn't matter who fills those positions, since any player can fill any position in the Triangle Offense. Rather than the 4-out version (i.e., with one low post player) of the Triangle Offense -- also known as High-Low Triangle Offense -- shown in Chadc5000's video, I like the 3-out version (i.e., with two low post players). I have a video that you can check out at: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g7GlfaZ-3c2-cZc.html However, if you like the High-Low version, here are three good videos for you to check out... Coach Lason Perkins: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gqyaaJOl3dPVYIE.html Coach Dave Stricklin: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hNygfqmomNiml4U.html Coach Doug Schakel: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e9WmhNOFsbGZj58.html I'm glad to help answer any questions that you have regarding the Triangle Offense.

Horrible set up . You don't bring the 4 upTo the top oh the key. The 4 and 2 stay on the. Backside to set up a two man play when the ball is reversed. The 4 and 5 should never be more than 12 ft from the basket at that age

Chad Hero With all due respect (or at least as much as you're willing to give me), you may not make a difference for your teams as the coach, but I like to think that I do... Particularly when you're working with many kids who have never played the sport, as was the case with a few of mine when I started with them a few years prior.

Sorry, I thought I was talking to the other guy lol! I thought the guy that said it was a horrible set up was also a coach and he was saying that he won the championship because he was a better coach. Now I see that you wrote the comment that your team won. You can see from my comment that I was defending you when he said it was horrible. I told him in was an introduction to the triangle and he was expecting you to be calling Phil Jackson plays. So sorry about that, I really thought he was saying he had a trophy
