YESSS, I thought the same thing. This needs to be done each episode bc they seemed very much to enjoy it seeing the similarities in our cooking styles as well as what's vastly different. Even though the clam shucking was not shown. Also, why did they keep calling clams maggots? You should show them what we consider maggots or simply tell them maggots in America are the name for the larval insect laid by flies on carrion.

I didn't see any clams put into that pot. That was not clam chowder. That was a potato soup/chowder.

@saltchick55 I just found this out a few months ago, but there actually is such a thing as beef bacon. Just as they do with pork, they use the belly, cure it, smoke it and slice it up the same way. I'm not sure if you're from the US, but when I was looking into it, I actually found that Walmart sells it! I've been wanting to pick some up one of these days and give it a try!

Yeah, but in reality, its better not to take any. Those people wash their asses with their hands after taking a shit, and use the same unclean hands (they dont have even soap) to eat. You will get diarrhea or worse eating food from their hands.

@@kdgrayson I read that a small minority of Muslim scholars think that clams are not allowed. Apparently there is one clear verse that says that all the creatures of the sea are allowed, but there are differing inerpretations.

Check out the 1:28 mark on the video where they are adding the spices, it shows the clams in the pot at that point but they didn't point it out. FYI Kevin Grayson I believe linked the video with it starting at that point as well but I didn't want it to take me off this page...

New Englander here as well.. I harvest my own clams. It would be cool to show them how we dig clams . I eat them raw, in chowda , and I make a wicked Stuffie (stuffed clam). As far as chowda goes, I like both Rhode Island and New England. Manhattan, not so much.

Nebraskan here. I have yet to try proper New England-made clam chowder, but it's still a comfort food to me, too. Soooo good!

This popped up after 2 months. I don't get notifications for stuff very often. Let me explain for those telling me I'm wrong, etc, etc. I once thought I saw a video by them where they say they don't eat shellfish. Usually when they say that, it's for religious reasons for most people. Such as how pork isn't eaten or in places cows aren't eaten. One person said I'm presuming and yes I am because they haven't confirmed it one way or the other as far as I know. I don't know if they did. I haven't seen a video on it yet. And don't harrange me for assuming something. I'm not the only person who has assumed something at one time or another. We are all guilty of doing that about something at one time or another. Frankly speaking, who cares? Such a stupid thing to be upset about that you'd call me on it. Also if I'm wrong about them not being able to eat shellfish then fine. I'm wrong. I don't know because I'm not part of their culture or beliefs. How am I supposed to know? Without the proper information I can only presume on what little information I have. Btw, I don't presume to know what they believe either.
