There are KZfaq channels showing how to cook recipes from the subcontinent. It's not difficult. You can find spices etc in large supermarkets or online.

Indeed, they got a chance to mix and mingle in a vastly different environment with other cultures/peoples of the world and now their horizons have become expanded! 😊

@@beefboy5728 Some people twirl the fork to get the spaghetti, we had to pick up a little spaghetti with the fork and then put the end of the fork into the spoon and then spin the fork to get the spaghetti to go around the fork... try it... works great, but not easy to do if you don't know what you are doing.

In the USA you can't just fish when you want to you have to pay a fee to get a license. This money is used by the department of natural resources to care for our wildlife and their environment. They run hatcheries, make sure wild game isn't over hunted or if they need to be hunted more in an area if there are to many in an area.they make sure water quality is good for wildlife and if not get it cleaned up so it is suitable for them. Many of our rivers were polluted by factories and industrial waist. One of the worst was mercury being put into water. Even today after they started cleaning the mercury up you still have to be careful where you fish and how much of the fish you eat. That's why many people use farm raised fish more often than wild caught.

Yes, I get the feeling that the shape of the shrimp reminds them of an insect. I believe Chaudary has mentioned that in the past. Maybe some of them can't get past it and I totally understand that!

The last time they served shrimp (I think it was in Gumbo) our dear Mr. Chaudhary actually pushed the plate aside and said that as grateful as he was to have such a meal prepared for him, he just couldn't get past the smell of the shrimp. Unfortunately, the very first time they had it, I think it was a bad batch of shrimp, because they all commented on the strong fishy odor and how mushy they were. Plus Chaudhary kept asking to see what the creature looked like in its live state. The look on his face when he saw the shell, tail and all of the little "swimmers " was like he'd just seen a horror movie! The first thing he said was "you're feeding me insects!!" and he spit what he had in his mouth into a napkin! 😳 Even though the producer tried to explain that they weren't insects, there was no convincing him otherwise. But, fresh, good quality shrimp should never have a fishy smell or a soft, mushy texture to it. They should have a nice firm feel and if there's any smell at all, it should have just a slightly briny smell, like the sea. Kinda like that wonderful salty, sweet air you experience the minute you open your car windows when you arrive at a seaside vacation destination. 😂

Tahir knows how to eat it this way, but he sometimes just does his own thing. They are all set in their ways I think.

@@markplott4820 I can do chopsticks. Fun to use when eating ramen. But just a fork for spaghetti. No slurping. Trick is to not catch too many spaghettis on the fork at one time. Then put end of fork to plate and twirl. It’s really easy.

Yes, I've noticed that, too! If shrimp isn't cooked properly or is fresh , I don't like it, either. I love it otherwise. It cooks quickly which is nice but you have to know what your doing when you prepare it.

The rest of us would rather see them return alive!!

I read an article back in the early 70s that before the civil was a law was made that you could not feed lobster to your slaves more than a few times a week. Apparently lobster was considered as non-desirable back then. The article wen on to say that lobsters are the cockroaches of the sea. I don’t eat lobster because of those 2 things.

Lobster was definitely looked down upon many years ago. It was fed to prisoners as well, I have read. It's delicious like be blue crab but they're crustaceans and they are work to eat from the shell. As I've gotten older, I just prefer the lumps of meat in dishes.
