I say you listen to and talk about whatever you want. Listening to music outside of BTS doesn't make anyone less of an ARMY. And you always keep it real with your reactions and opinions. Dreamcatcher is such a solid group. For album reaction I'd say Dystopia: The Tree of Language, Dystopia: Road to Utopia, or Raid of Dream. Those three are my favorites as whole, although each EP and album have at least a couple songs I like.

My favorite thing is ppl reacting to DC for the 1st time. Everyone has their own tastes, and whether ppl like them or not, no can say theyre not unique even within the vast realm of kpop lol glad to see you enjoyed the girls. I saw them last year in Chicago and despite coming from a small company and not having all the extra fancy set ups/venues like some groups can have, their concerts are AMAZING. Theyre even better live bc you can feel their energy on stage and they always give 100%.

I don't really listen to Dreamcatcher but every song I've ever heard from them has been bangin' I've been a big fan of "Scream" and "BEcause" Just added deja-vu and bon voyage to my playlist (100/100)

(some context: right before Scream came out one of the members had been promoting in china, and covid hit, so she ended up being stuck there for a while, not able to leave the country nor enter south korea. dreamcatcher ended up promoting as 6 members for a couple comebacks, including Scream, and you can actually see a masked dancer performing Scream in place of the 7th member (both live and in the actual MV). for the comeback following Scream (BOCA) they decided to just have the 6 of them, because at that point they didn’t know when she would be able to return, but thankfully she came back for Odd Eye, the one after that, and they have released a ton of stuff since then 😭)

I recommend their first full-length album, Dystopia: The Tree of Language 😊. I think it really shows their versatility, and it's definitely a no-skips album.

Dreamcatcher and ATEEZ share the same producers. For ATEEZ, their sound has evolved A LOT through time. I definitely suggest the Outlaw album, it's completely different from their debut but has the same outlaw/pirates theme.

Dreamcatcher are SO GOOD and deserve so much more attention thank you for listening to them!! They push the boundaries in terms of concepts and genres expected of girl groups in the industry and really show theres room for so much more if girls were given the chance. I really hope to see them live one day

They have a concert in my city soon and I really hope I'll be able to go they're probably one of the best performers out there especially for a girlgroup. You need to see Dreamcatcher's MV's in the order they were released since most of them are part of continuing story lines. You should go back and finish the Nightmare series with Good Night (Chase Me continued), Fly High, What, Piri and Breaking Out. Deja Vu was a stand alone story. Vision is the second part of the Apocalypse trilogy with Bon Voyage being the third part. Scream is the first part of the Dystopia trilogy. Enjoy!

imo it’s fine if you talk about other groups when reacting to someone, as long as you not negatively comparing them or talking bad, there shouldn’t be an issue. BUT knowing kpop fans they’d disagree with is, regardless they’ll hate you for it

OMG DREAMCATCHER😭 this is unexpected but very very exciting you don't know how fast i clicked 😭

Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 "Chase me" was their debut, released on January 13th (a Friday), 2017. It must have been nerve-wrecking for the members, re-debuting with a genre that is not popular in Korea after Minx failed. (5 of them were Minx before.) But they already doubled their sales with this. And they stuck with the Rock/Metal vibe until today, now selling 50 times the albums than Minx did. This is the start of the Nightmare arc, which spans 6 MVs and 1 Japanese release. They are Nightmares here, and the Nightmare hunter is trying to dispel them - how that turns out is shown in the next one, Good Night. In "You and I" you can see the spider queen coming for Yoohyeon. She is the old woman that is being photographed - only to rob Yoohyeon's spirit. Also, earlier we see Dongie being pinned to the wall by needles, what is usually done to insects. For me, Yoohyeon's spirit is being pulled out here and thrown into the white dimension, which we will see again in Piri. The spider queen takes over her body, which is why we see JiU grab her neck in the end. If you ask me, I believe "You and I" is a direct follow-up to "Fly High". For me, the story continues here through to Piri, and Chase me would then follow Piri chronologically. You don't stand a chance of understanding the story without seeing "Fly High". I highly recommend to check out the dance practice as well, because Dami does something very special that didn't make it into the MV. Deja Vu is nothing short of a masterpiece. It is a beautiful, fragile ballad that kicks your teeth down your throat in the chorus. It is extra difficult to sort out, because it tells the story from two perspectives. You know how even evil people think they are the good guys? This is reflected here. One perspective is Yoohyeon's, who gets corrupted right in the beginning. She thinks JiU is bad (does not want to share power) and backstabs her and kills, imprisons or banishes the other members so that she can rule alone. The other perspective is reality, where we can see JiU be kind to Yoohyeon, but she gets killed for it. I believe this is a commentary on the different perspectives people can have about the same event. The lyrics seem to hint at an abusive relationship, where there are usually two perspectives as well, and the abuser finds excuses to justify their actions, while the abused find themselves in an endless Deja Vu. "Vision" is part 2 of the Apocalypse trilogy. I believe they are showing us the perspective from the future in this series, showing us how the earth looks like when we keep acting like we do. While "Maison" was talking about the destruction of the environment, here they seem to be talking about the destruction due to war. I don't know if that was the idea from the beginning, but Putin's aggression definitely played a role here. In one set they even dance in front of what looks sort of like a huge trident, which is the coat of arms of Ukraine (could be a coincidence though, or this is me seeing things). It is easy to see how the conflict in Ukraine could result in global destruction. It's just a push of a button away. Note that Dami presses a launch button, but it's not for nukes. It's for spreading their message, their vision. Peace. To be heard all around the world. The song is also a call for action, to stand together against aggressors and those who are destroying the planet out of greed. There is not much difference between someone leading an army or a corporation, if the result is destruction. Still, Dami said the intention is to resolve the problems in a peaceful way. So, what do we do? There is no easy answer. Dami has an outfit that shows that perfectly. One half is an innocent bridal dress, the other half is simply badass. What I know is that any aggressor only listens to very limited diplomacy, and they need to know that the good in the world is ready and willing to fight them if needed. Whoever the aggressor is, we are more than them. They need to know they will never succeed, the only option is peace. By the way, my interpretation could be completely wrong, any other theory is perfectly valid as well. Musically, it's heavier than Maison, and I feel it fits the subject matter very well. It sounds aggressive and heavy, but also soft and vulnerable. There is the duality again. And I love the fake keychange at the end of the chorus, the crazy bass and the guitar in the bridge. All in all this is a fantastic release! "Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy, which is about the destruction of the environment by humanity. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it as well, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell, representing nature. It has been named "Celly" and is adorable, right? My dark mind believes that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on our way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are singing to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature and that it probably resents us. It could also be the other way round (them singing as mother nature to humanity). SuA jumping out after the dove seem to represent their desire for peace. The story of the MV seems to be that the rest of humanity has sheltered away under force fields after the apocalypse. This gives nature time to heal. Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius.

for dreamcatcher’s album reaction... they have 2 full-length albums, as well as a bunch of EPs/mini albums. i love their first full album Dystopia: The Tree of Language, and it’s the best one imo, but it’s one of the couple comebacks they recorded as 6 members because one member was stuck in another country during covid 😭 and the second full-length album has 1 solo track for each member, and only 4 group tracks... so i don’t think it’s the best one to react first 😭😭😭 the mini albums and EPs are all great, and some of their older b-sides are really, really good. you should definitely check with your friend that recommended dreamcatcher, but i’ll leave these suggestions: The End of Nightmare (5-track EP) Alone In The City (5-track EP) Dystopia : The Tree of Language (12-track album + 1 “bonus” track) all of these songs would be new for you except Scream (the single for Dystopia: The Tree of Language) i also didn’t count the instrumental version of each single (that it’s included in most of their albums)

It's the first time I hear their music. Interesting how they considered K-Pop group but sound exactly how 2000s - early 2010s j-rock I grew up on (the one that is on more pop side, as Japanese loves their rock even in the pop songs). Like songs you will hear in anime intros. I feel very nostalgic, as for today I listen mostly to more metal side of j-rock and rarely watch anime (adult life is suck, bro).

Since you like rock and anime, they did an anime opening called Eclipse, and their song Rose Blue is a game collab that is also reminiscent of anime! Maison is part 1 of the apocalypse trilogy =) And if you like rock, their B side on the Bon Voyage album (Apocalypse From Us) “Demian” is legit AF. Also you can actually look them up by Dreamcatcher Apocalypse because their albums are literally titled Apocalypse: Save Us, Apocalypse: Follow Us, and Apocalypse: From Us, lol. So you’d find them. DC are a solid group, their title tracks are amazing but the real gems are in the B-sides. The only other group that I think does B-sides as well as DC is Red Velvet. They are amazing. They are very underrated in Korea too, they have gotten a lot more attention since their song Maison came out, but they’re still underdogs. They debuted in 2017 when rock in K-pop was like…not a thing, so they’ve fought an uphill battle. They’ve just had their 7 year anniversary :D Also the furry thing in BV is called Celly, it’s a cell, lol.

oh i love these girls theyre so cool

this might seem random, but as an army i’m always happy to see other artists acknowledging the guys with respect and/or admiration. there’s a weird energy when it comes to some kpop idols, specially those that debuted before 2018 (idk if it’s their company or whatever), but some idols just refuse to acknowledge bts’ existence and i always found it funny. some even avoid saying their name lol but anyway, mamamoo and dreamcatcher are some of the only groups i’ve seen from 3rd gen (bts’ generation, around bts’ age) that have always mentioned bts randomly/casually (without being prompted or asked) and with respect. and ik there are other groups who have mentioned them and/or specific members, but i always found mamamoo and dreamcatcher’s appreciation for them genuine (considering mamamoo has not interacted with bts in years, and the dreamcatcher members never have lol). just wanted to throw that out there, cause those two groups give me similar vibes when it comes to having talent AND good character 👌

You just went up in my book. I didn’t think you could go up any higher but you did with this one. Dreamcatcher is my favorite girl group besides Mamamoo. If you love MUSIC then you will love these type of artists. I’m excited to see who else you end up liking. I think there are more out there that you’d like than you might realize. Day6, Stray Kids, Enhypen, (G)I-DLE, LE SSERAFIM, Moon Sujin…these are a few who stand out to me in the “kpop” realm. Their sounds are top tier. Hope you find more that you like!

33:18 personally i think it’s fine if you mention other groups. i get that people might take offense, and most fans don’t like comparisons, but if you’re just sharing you’re opinion or maybe opening up a discussion, i don’t see how that’s considered wrong. i think folks are too hostile sometimes, and no one can talk normally anymore, so maybe it’s valid to avoid mentioning other groups, depending on the context. but i feel like we should be able to have conversations about stuff like this. some fans are rightfully skeptic when reactors start to make comparisons (bcs often times they just be saying shit without really knowing, and fans are protective lol), but sometimes “fans” are just too immature to deal with their opinions being challenged, and they attack anyone who tries to voice a different opinion on something they like. even if the person is being respectful and/or is open to discussing and learning more... they just can’t deal with it. they hear 1 sentence that they dislike/disagree with and just see red and start attacking as if you cursed their whole bloodline
