I just found this video today. Today, I’ve been emotional, maybe it’s because of stress of college, but I’ve needed to feel something today. It’s almost been a year since we got the news about losing Moonbin, but I remember the day I heard about it. I was in school when I heard about it and I had to get through the rest of the day. I regret that I didn’t get into K-pop until 2022, and that I didn’t find Astro earlier. I knew of them somewhat, but not much. I had watched some variety content, but I wouldn’t have considered myself an Aroha. I think I started to Stan them after Moonbin because I wanted to know about Astro, it felt like my way to honor him. I heard about Astro from being a Carat, so I know how much it must hurt for the Arohas. I have experienced losing a loved one, in December of 2022 I lost my great grandfather. I know loss is hard, but I think that it’s important that we still talk about him. Some people become forgotten because we don’t talk about them, but we can’t let that happen. This year, there was a solar eclipse, and many of the planets aligned this year. I saw a theory that it was like this, not to mention two solar eclipses in 7 years is incredibly rare, because Moonbin was watching over Astro and Aroha. I like to think that all those we have lost, idols, friends, family, pets, etc., are watching over us, protecting us as we go along. To any Aroha or anyone in general who may be hurting, needs someone to vent to, or just wants someone to care, feel free to do so here, only if you want. This reply section is a safe space, and everyone has the chance to use their voice. To my Aroha who are still grieving, I want to offer you a perspective that I use with my grief about my great grandfather. Don’t just keep going because it numbs the pain, that’s not going to work. Keep going and keep trying not just for you, but for Moonbin and for Astro. Honor his memory by trying, even if you think you can’t. That trying also applies to taking care of yourself, try it for Moonbin. It can be something as small as remembering to do something you needed to do, or making sure to eat. I feel that our loved ones watch over us, and we should do what we can to honor them. Once again, if you need to or want to, feel free to use my reply as a way to vent or express your feelings. Your feelings are valid, always. Also, try to look at the moon when you can, and remember him, for now he watches over us all. Keep trying, do the best that you can, no matter how small the task is. You are seen, and you are loved. I think this is my way of expressing my feelings and my regret of not knowing Astro sooner. To Arohas out there, I love you all, and so does Moonbin. I truly believe he loves you and is watching over you and Astro.
