James Uhrin, beloved by generations of television fans around Baltimore, died Saturday morning at his home, his family said. He was 65.

I found out about Jimmy this morning and it immediately brought tears to my eyes he was truely a Baltimore broadcasting legend and I was dedicated to watching and enjoying his traffic jam reports every morning during the past 7 years since being retired saying to myself "I'm glad I don't have to leave my comfortable home and drive in all that mess and chaos anymore"! Mornings will never be the same or easy for a good while it will take us all some time to get used to not seeing him anymore, as I know he touched a lot of lives including mine. Goodbye Jimmy thank you for the memories, we all love and miss you!!!

Traffic Jam Jimmy is a true Baltimore icon.. i had the pleasure of knowing his work as a child i grew up watching Captain Chesapeake. He was always full of life and brought a smile tell all everywhere he went..he will truly be missed.. there'll never be another...🙏🏿🙏🏿

He was such a great spirit and kind man. He was Baltimore. I'm sure he was the heartbeat of the station. He was just giving out gas on Friday, then Saturday he's gone. His presence will surely be missed by many. Traffic will never be the same. Rest in Heaven Jimmy. 🕊️🙏🕊️🙏

My heart is broken. I really enjoyed watching him as Traffic "Jam" Jimmy and Monty the sea-monster on Captain Chesapeake. He will be missed. One of the nicest person that I have ever met in my life.

Jimmy you will be terribly missed! This truly breaks my heart. You brought so much joy and pep to my mornings before heading to work. I loved hearing you say “Hey slow down buddy”. You had such a beautiful spirit. You treated everyone with such kindness. I’m gonna miss spotting you in the road and as I already mentioned on air. You got me crying real tear Jim, damn it man! Thank you for all your hard work and being one of Baltimores icons. I also want to thank your family for sharing their special gift with all of us! I promise to slow down ( I’ll try really hard at least), I also promise to always obey the move over law. You will truly be missed ❤️

I watched captain Chesapeake years ago and remember Monday the sea monster who was jimmy uhrin. Then I watched traffic jam jimmy every morning on fox 45 news jimmy was part of my life. I'll miss him
