The thing I remember the most about Eddie Van Halen was his humility. In an interview, he admitted that Alan Holdsworth was the best guitar player of all, and then went on to help him sign with Warner Brothers for the IOU album, thus lifting Holdsworth out of obscurity. I will always remember this! Thank you, EVH, I salute you my brother!

I was 6 years old when my big brother put on a vhs of Van Halen Live Without a Net for me to watch in our living room. I was this chubby little fat kid, sitting on my feet in the middle of the room, watching the entire concert with my eyes soldered onto the screen in Eternal amazement. When King Edward played his guitar solo, I could not believe that the Creator of the Universe could bestow such a Powerful talent in one human being; and he was immeasurably more than that. Similar to how others grow up watching their favourite super hero’s reading comics, movies etc, I am forever grateful to God for allowing me to watch and witness on screen and in the flesh, the greatest guitar hero in the history of mankind. Eddie Van Halen is, and will Forever be my Guitar Superhero. Thank you Eddie, for being the greatest musical inspiration to me and my family. I still can’t believe you are gone and will hurt for a long time yet, but I’m hopeful to meet you one day in Eternity. God bless, and we love you... Eddie Van Halen Forever.

Eddie was one of the greats. Hate hearing when the musicians and singers that played and sang the soundtrack to my formative years pass away. I realize how vulnerable now my generation has now grown to. So sad😔 cherish each day we have together.

It was like I lost my big cool brother. I wept for a good while remembering the great times we had in the 80's and VH's 84 Jump was blasting down Whittier blvd. Im still having a hard time now. RIP brother and see you in the next life.

As a guitar player myself I must say that no matter what genre or style you play you gotta give it to the LEGEND. His guitar skills and talent were out of this world. There'll never be another one like EVH. I'm still stunned, numb and in disbelief. Rest in peace Eddie Van Halen 🎸🎸🎸🎸😭😭😭

Heaven now has the best rock band: Eddie Van Halen, Chris Squire of Yes on bass, Neil Peart of Rush on drums, Jimi Hendrix, and Freddy Mercury on Vocals. What a line up!!! Cant wait to die.
