Alia and Ranbir winning together was a balant attempt to recreate the hype of show when Ranveer and Deepika won together in 2016 and the videos of the couple's relationship were trending on social media.

Filmfare should create a category next year called “Alia Bhatt Award”. That way she can win an award every year 🤣🥴. Filmfare also gives annually the real best actor and actress awards as a token best critics awards. They Gave best debut to Salman khan niece for a film nobody saw and was a big disaster only because she is related to Salman khan. John Abraham not getting a nod over Emraam Hashmi Nayanthara not the best debut? What about Vijay Sethupathi? The awards are inconsistent on their rules when it suits them as Jammy pointed out? What about Chal Tere Ishq from Gadar? Nomination for Lyrics and Female Vocals? What happened to past comedy and villain categories that allowed for other actors who often get overlooked to take home some recognition?

I would say Deepika's cameo in Jawan is more deserving than Alia. My opinion only.

Rani Mukerji deserved the popular award by a mile. No Alia, No Kiara- Mrs Chatterjee was a genius performance by Rani and clearly deserves all the awards. She was robbed during 2019 also with Gully Boy winning over Mardaani 2. Rani Mukerji as it is does really less movies and such practices will furthermore discourage her doing more work...

The charm of Filmfare is definitely faded because it was held for the first in my city and literally nobody was excited 😶

The biggest joke of the award is Alia winning the award for the portrayal of Rani which is one of the most mid portrayals of her on lines of Isha. Getting an award for such mid-portrayals just decreases the value of the genuine awards she won in the past for Udta Punjab and Gangubai.

I do love Alia Bhatt and appreciated her acting in Highway, Raazi, Gangubhai etc. BUT she did not deserve it for this film. Even Deepika's cameo in Jawan was more deserving than this.

Its absolutely bonkers that Alia is awarded every year in some way or the other. No doubt she is a good actress, but there are other good actresses too who have had such brilliant run this year. If they could tie the best actors in both categories then why not actresses? And having a separate award function for technical team?!?!? They are literally the heart of the movie almost equating with efforts as actors. Heartbreaking and disgusting.

I think Rani Mukherjee deserved the award for best actress in a leading role.

If Vicky Kaushal can be nominated for both Popular and Critics Award for Best Actor (deservedly so imo, wouldn't want to take that away from him), then why not Vikrant Massey? They could've easily done away with SRK's nomination for Jawan in the Popular category. I didn't mind Ranbir winning because he genuinely was brilliant in the role but my heart goes to Vikrant. But as a Bengali I must say- pls not Alia for this role. Not even close.

Big fan of Alia Bhatt's work, she's an amazing actress, but in my honest opinion, I feel that this time the Filmfare Award for best actress could have gone to Kiara Advani for Satyaprem Ki Katha. Kiara's performance in this film was truly impactful and stood out from the rest. Just my two cents, no disrespect to Alia, she's fantastic, but Kiara really deserved recognition for her outstanding work in that film. 🌟

Ranbir's performance in Animal was great, but I personally found Vicky and Vikrant's more impressing. I honestly couldn't enjoy the former's acting that much due to Animal's writing. But they should've at least tied Vicky and Vikrant if they had to give Ranbir the award.

Rani deserved the best actress popular award, period. She has deserved it many times in the last 5 yrs for hichki and mardaani as well and yet has repeatedly lost to Alia's mediocre roles. Giving her the critics choice award was just a ploy to give the popular award to Alia and let Ralia shine. Ranbir might have deserved that award but Vikrant not even getting nominated was criminal. I don't understand this logic of critics vs popular. If popularity is a criteria, then bring in public voting and then SRK would have won the award hands down.

Filmfare really has disappointed me by not giving best critics actor to him this year. And they should have nominated Jaideep ahlawat for supporting actor for three of us.

It's sad to see that award shows have become more like accommodating the movies and performances (be it singing or acting or any other skill) in different categories rather than the deserving ones getting nominated and winning. Down the years, people will forget who won in which categories, but what will remain with us are movies like Jawan, Satyaprem Ki Katha, Sam Bahadur, 12th Fail and others for right reasons, when Bollywood revived with a bang and how!

I love Alia as an actor, but she did not deserve the best actress award this year. Kiara Advani should have won just for that one scene alone where she was recalling her past trauma in bed with Kartik Aaryan. It was a spine chilling performance. If you’re gonna give Alia an award for Rocky aur Rani, might as well give one to her for Student of the Year as well.

well said Anmol. sometimes i question why some of the wins affect me but its really nice to recognize outstanding performances and give credit where credit is good. yes i agree with your suggestions and i also believe that Ranveer is the best thing to happen to RRKP. lol i remember Karan always complimenting Alia when he was asked about Ranveer, almost as if he didn't want Ranveer to be given his flowers. it was painful to see. it made me see that its important to have a director that the movie and actors can have complete faith in (might delete later).

Debut category literally doesn't have any rule book right from the Pooja Butt winning for her Doordarshan serial, Asin for Gajni(after winning 2 Best actress Popular in Telugu 2003 and Tamil 2005 for Gajni), Sara Ali Khan, Ananya. There is no rule book for filmfare either for nominations or for choosing a winner. Every time KJo is the influencer of Jury and Jitesh Pillai is the even more huge fan than KJo for Alia. According to me Udta Punja and Gangubai are the only award winning performances of Ali. Gully Boy - supporting role, Razi is good and Highway is just Okay. Rocky aur Rani - even Alia wouldn't had though about her being nominated after watching the film.
