Trieste (2024 Trier in German and Trst in Slovenish) is a strategic located port city in the region Friuli Venezia Giulia in the north of Italy. Chinese shipping company COSCO has made a huge investment in the port of Trieste (like Piraeus harbor) as part of the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative (the Maritime Silk Road). From 1382 to 1918 Trieste was part of the Habsburg Monarchy. After the First World War the city became a part of Italy. Trieste has 210,000 citizens. The square of Trieste is one of the most impressive of Italy and on one of the hills tops in the north of the city the beautiful Habsburg's Ferdinandeo Palace is located.
