I have 2018 Colorado. I felt the shake and shutter of the transmission. I saw a couple of videos and forums saying changing the transmission oil would get rid of the shake and shutter feeling, which it did for about 6 months and now it’s back.

I have a 2015 GMC Colorado, Totally stock with the Trifecta tune. In my experience in sport mode it will not shift into 6th gear on the highway. That's why you see the RPM's drop when you put it in eco mode when at speed, it's shifting into 6th gear. and my MPG's greatly increased in my day to day driving in eco mode. At 55-65 on the highway i can easily average in the upper 20's. Granted, I am on the east coast and it's totally flat here. Sport mode different story. ;) just my .02 - Great Vid.

I drive mine in tow/haul mode a lot of the time. It's like a different truck especially in town driving or hilly country.

I have a throttle lag eliminator and from what you and others describe Trifecta does nothing more in performance benefit then opening the throttle capabilities. What about removing the 98mph governor?

Will this work well with a AFE Cold air intake and a Windbooster throttle enhancer?

I’m not sure about the throttle enhancer. I’d imagine it does since the throttle is fly-by-wire and the enhancer is limited to that where the tune is for the engines computer and fuel/air mapping. It will work with the intake.

Thanks for the video. My 2015 Canyon is extremely sluggish; struggles getting from low speeds up to acceleration. Wondering if this is my ticket out of that situation. When you talk about modes, ie: sport etc. Are you making a physical selection to change modes in the car somehow? Or will it just be in Sport once the tune is installed.

Sport mode is the default so that will be on until you press your cruise control button. When cruise control is on it will be in eco Mode. Then tow/haul is activated by pressing the tow/haul button under your A/C controls

Trifecta is having their black Friday sale going on this week. I own a 2020 Chevrolet Colorado Z71. Will this help me with mpg and will it help with towing my 5,000 t.t.? Will I be able to run 87 octane or am I going to have to run 91 or 93 especially when towing

I don’t know about towing but my MPG went from 16 on average to 19 on 87 octane.

I believe it is. I’ve seen many people rocking a pedal commander with the trifecta tune. I do not personally have a pedal commander though.

I don’t believe this tune drops that. You might have to look into the custom option they offer.

Hey do not I mean DO NOT… tune your truck until the warranty is over… any future warranty is now voided… ask me why? Visit any GM dealer, they will inform you… A tune will always, regardless of what your told, always leave a digital footprint in the system. I’ve seen it many of times on a so called factory truck. Once found, game over… warranty claim will be denied. Best advice keep stock until your past your factory warranty.

What is the difference between the Advantage+ and the Elite for a 2016 Colorado?

The advantage + will gave you the basic tune designed for a stock motor with stock intake and exhaust, etc. the elite will give you a custom tune based off you mods: intake, exhaust, supercharger, etc. hope that helps.

Default is sport mode, turning on cruise control turns on eco mode and hitting the tow/haul button activates tow/haul mode

I’ve purchased a 2019 ZR2 about a month ago. I’ve followed the same recipe I have for several vehicles. A cai, free flowing muffler, soler tb and instead of a custom dyno tune I opted for the trifecta advantage + tune. It didn’t help that I drove my 850hp ZL1 for a few days and then came back and installed the tune. Weak sauce😢 I have a little stretch a little over a 1/4 mile. ZL1-137 mph. 2018 Denali 6.2 with usual recipe-107 mph. Former taco with sc, headers and tune-101 mph. ZR2 so far-96 mph.😢. I hear edelbrocks $500 discount on their sc calling my name. This thing feels s l o w.

You’ll have to use windows I believe. Tune has been great. Been about 5 months and still going strong.

It did! I averaged about 15 MPG before the tune now I average between 19-22 MPG

Just wanted to let people know The transmission out of these trucks I have a 2016 GMC canyon. the stock transmission is out of a Cadillac STS 2008 model that comes in the trucks they cannot handle hardly any more than 400 hp so if anyone puts a supercharger on it you’re OK but for anyone trying to add more power than that if you can even find it because they don’t make hardly any aftermarket parts engine wise for the 3.6 L V6 they don’t make cans they don’t make aftermarket heads they don’t make aftermarket headers with or without catalytic converter deletes. With this being said I put a 5.3 L V8 stock in my truck it handled it but if I start adding any power I’m gonna have to put a different transmission in it. I was told that the full-size Silverado transmissions can easily handle it so I might go with that option first

How does it affect shifting? Up & down? Mine shift’s to quickly in town so when I want to accelerate it has to drop 2 or3 gears which causes hesitation

Hi John. For me it made shifting a lot smoother. It’s no Cadillac but it is not hunting or constantly holding a high gear for MPG reasons. The truck feels “ready to go” in town and like it is in the right gear maybe 90-95% of the time.

I think the pedal commander is a good option if you just want to address the pedal feel and make it less numb. I don’t believe it adds any HP or torque. Everyone that gets one always has great things to say about it though. And it also has many programmable modes so you can likely find a setting that fits your driving style. I’d go that option if I were staying stock and just wanted better pedal feel.

Soler makes a throttle controller that is half the price, excellent reviews. Throttle controller do not add any power, they just open the throttle plate faster/further for a given gas pedal position. They do improve drivability. The trifecta eliminates the need for a controller.

Thanks Dustin, this tune is compatible with most intakes and exhaust but it might be worth doing the custom tune they offer if you want to get the most HP out of the 3.6 and intake/exhaust.

High octane only makes any difference in high compression engines to prevent early detonation. It doesn't mean more power.

You are incorrect. Early ignition prevents the engine from working efficiently and thus leads to less HP and torque. The MCM has a specific fuel strategy and most engines are rated on premium 91 no ethanol fuel. You are correct about carbon build up due to direct injection not washing the valves like port injection when running lower octane.

@@johnrushing8030 you're actually incorrect. Early ignition is controlled by spark and compression. You will not get early ignition if your compression ratio is lower and your spark is properly timed. This can change with a tune because the tune messes with the factory settings. However lower octane fuel is actually higher power fuel and the octane is a low power additive that prevents pre-detonation. So if you put premium in a regular car, you've actually just reduced the power of your vehicle by a considerable amount.

@@t_c5266 yeah that's not true bud. Not by a long shot. Octane is simply a measurement of how heat resistant a fuel is, higher octane fuels won't burn at lower temperatures that lower ones would. That's how your predetonation happens. And seeing as modern engines have a lot more timing adjustment than older ones as well as higher compression... Lower octane is what's actually robbing power

@@chrisbacak2311 look it up. The mechanism to prevent pre-detonation might be higher heat resistance. However if you use high octane in a low compression engine, the caloric content of low octane fuel is higher. The only point of high octane is to be able to combine it with high compression engines and not get pre-detonation (engine knock) which allows more of the energy to be extracted. Find me a single source that says increasing octane increases power given the same, low compression, engine and you'll have won a nobel prize for discovering a new method of energy extraction that we havent learned for over 100 years
