Absolutely. Though I'm not sure I could say the most. I however no doubt will struggle to find some one to top him off hand. He most certainly is up thier with any of em, definitely up there in the premier league, as it were. I sometimes toy with the idea that in some respects he may be the best and preferable alternative to Christopher Hitchens we currently have. Murray, like Hitchens is one of the few people who talk seriously, honestly, intellectually, non panderingly and frankly yet are still sometimes brought on TV and showed by the mainstream sludge and nonsense purveyors and so called news sources.

Bad journalism used to be about logical fallacies and reframing what an individual said for a tame audience. Now it's simply putting different words in their mouth. That used to be called a show trial.

What that journalist did to Roger Scruton is just another nail hammered into the coffin of the mainstream media! Ironically, Scruton's reputation and legacy will continue a long time into the distant future and the interviewer (whose name escapes me) will eventually be forgotten!

So glad I bought Scruton's book, "Fools, Frauds and Firebrands". It's a broader look at the individual characters of the new Left than I was looking for, but boy, is it interesting. Now that he's been unjustly fired, I'd buy it again if I wasn't so cheap. Regardless, folks, it's a valuable read.

Talk about saving the best until last - hardly anybody I know trusts the media anymore and hasn't done for many years and you can also add politicians as well who treat the public as though we are gormless idiots - where the media/journalists are concerned then at least you can simply stop buying their services but civil servants like the BBC and politicians should simply be sacked if they are caught lying to their employers, the same as the rest of us would be

DOUGLAS: Don't neglect the role of two dim ex-military, order-following, TORY MPs in the sacking of Sir Roger Scruton! TOM TUGENHAT is the only one I can recall: I wonder when he last read anything written by Sir Roger......or ANY philosopher, come to that? This 'type' of MP is the lowest-of-the-low. I hope his constituents will remember what he did at the next GENERAL election.

Journalists are professionally bound to tell the truth to the best of their knowledge IMO. If they are proved to have blatantly lied to besmirch someones character then they should be sacked and the media they work for heavily fined for condoning gutter journalism IMO.

What about the Jewish/Australian journalist who was smart enough to record his interview and prove that " comedy Central" edited his answer and when he went to the US to challenge the tv was deported by the FBI on demand from the TV station.

But when I suggest that print media should be regulated in the same way as broadcast media, everybody without exception leaps up and defends the status quo. Well, I find it excellent that Murray exposes this particular piece of journalistic excess and identifies the delinquent author, but let's leave off the hypocrisy that the event itself is "extraordinary", "intolerable" or "outrageous" because that is what everybody wants. Eaton is just fulfilling a need, something he himself is well aware of.
