With so many professionals in the comments on KZfaq you would think the world would be in better shape.

Put a big branch on first, tie a piece of scrap rope to the end, back up to where you want to tip and tie it off to something. Raise the hoist and drive away, the tied off big branch on the bottom will pull it all off usually. Can even work with a truck or trailer with no hoist.

I was raised on a farm doing manual labor. Picking cotton, in the 60s, making 5 cents a lb...as a child I never picked over 60 lbs in a day. Stacking hay, w a pitchfork on an upsidedown cross..loading watermelon🍉. pulling weeds, pulling corn, picking peas, shelling them on the front porch all day long....I would love to have an acre for rescues, but I love 💘watching you farm....out plowing...so peaceful...makes me think of ole times not forgotten...

Suggestion on backing 4 wheel wagons: We have hitches mounted on the front of our smaller tractors, hooking the wagon tongue to the front of the tractor makes backing a 4 wheel wagon much easier, Otherwise you are pushing the wagon into the shed, believe me it’s much easier,

We called those grain wagons around here. That’s why they have a shoot on the end gate so you can backup to a pit or most likely an auger hopper and dump grain to transfer to a bin. That chain hanging on the inside was meant stretch across and prevent the sides from blowing out. Backing up a wagon does take some practice, try this; imagine the hitch on the tractor is an extension of your hands.

Hello I see people posting about putting a ball on the front of tractor, what I did was to drill a hole in my loader bucket near the leading edge then I just use a hitch pin. Works great. Thanks for the video

I think this is definitely a handy wagon to have on the homestead. It is bigger than the pickup bed and it does dump (somewhat). Too bad it doesn't have a slick surface on the bottom so things would slide off better also easier to hose down after you have hauled manure in it. Maybe you could come up with something. That wagon is a great addition to the arsenal. I've found that if you load the first layer butt ends just outside the end and all other layers working forward, it helps guide the whole mass as it's dumped. The less to catch, the better.

When I drove trucks with a drag(trailer) we used to mount a tow hitch on the front of the tractor, it was easier to have the steering wheels on the towbar, much quicker reaction times for manoeuvring, just a thought, like your site by the way, gives me an interest for the dull UK afternoons, keep it up, thanks

Great investment it's well worth $250 . You could have cut the limbs even higher by standing in the wagon and cutting the limbs. The less shade the better so your hay will grow

Enjoy your videos. Just a comment on your power steering noise. Have owned and worked on those case tractors for years. They are famous for belt slippage. Power steering is driven by a small belt driven by the water pump which is driven by 2 larger belts off the crankshaft. Slippage can be at either set of belts. Make sure that belts and pulleys are in good condition and belts are the correct width to fit the pulleys. Belts have to be tensioned properly. The power steering belt is difficult to get tight enough and after its run awhile it will have to be retensioned. Also slippage can be at the double belts. In this case if you turn the steering you can hear or see the radiator fan slow down. Valve problems happen but are much less common. If everything is set correctly you can turn steering all the way to either side and hold without belt slipping. Hope this helps and good luck.

Before you tear into the Case steering system ... check the fluid quality and replace the filter(s), sometimes it's a simple problem. Squealing, if not a slipping belt, could be a pressure relief valve getting worked because the higher rpm and higher fluid flow is hitting restrictions like a plugged filter.

My tractor has a hitch plate on the front bumper. Makes it a lot easier to hitch the wagon up front and back it up while you're looking forward. You can correct the drift easier and keep it straight. You look like a pretty good welder just make a hitch if your tractor doesn't have one. Really comes in handy and is safer.

Evan, you made a good buy on that dump wagon for $250.00 and I would leave it like it is. It will be handy for a lot of things around your farm and with the lift working as well as it is, it will pay for itself in a short period of time. You can still haul hay on it, brush piles like you did today, firewood haul, moving dirt to fill in low places, hauling to your compost area, it is unlimited what you can use it for.

Evan, you can make a modular rack, that will fit in the stake holes, then just drop it on with the TYM, when needed, and a little forethought when loading the rack, with hay bales, and you don't worry about tipping. Because once you start to modify the running gear, well, that opens a whole different can of worms. I had to modify a much larger trailer (24 foot by 8 foot), it was a whole mess of extra work. Love seeing that old Case tractor running, a classic. That dump trailer is a great add especially for $250. You might want to raise the cables running to it as they are dragging on the ground. Wonder if you can disable the steering feature of the dump trailer? I’ll bet your arms get tired after using the pole saw for awhile. Enjoy your videos!

My Hubby used to hitch those on to the Front of the Tractor and back them and Hayracks right into the Barn right where he wanted them when Hithed to the Front of our Tractors :-)

I remember when I was about 15 working for a farmer he had me try and back up 2 trailers that were both attached to the tractor, he new I couldn't do it but it was a test,back then they used small trailers for small grain whether oats. Hi Evan, I does not matter how many times you attempt to reverse the trailer, what does matter is that you do it and achieve your goal in the end. I know its a fairly small dump trailer but could you make it a bit easier on yourself by standing in the trailer and cutting the branches, then letting the branches fall into the trailer. This would save you loading the thing and you would also be able to cut higher if you wanted to. Let gravity do the work not you. Just a thought. Thanks for posting.

I cut from inside the bed of my flatbed dump truck to be able to reach high up without too much strain. I added steps outside the bed to aid climbing in and out. I also cut limbs at least a foot back of the field edge to allow for future growth.

Greetings from Australia, to make your trailer easier to back up you need what we call over here is a turn table lock. You weld a steel plate to the front of the trailer with a hole in it and the same to front axle undercarriage and drop a big pin through both holes this stops the axle from rotating and you can push it backwards in a straight line jack knifing.

Just an observation, check your lines. One is dragging the ground in the video. FYI

freshly cut limbs off trees should be dumped for the goats or cows as they will think you gave them a snack and will quickly have them stripped down as they eat the leaves, bark and young soft wood.

You should refurbish the case and repaint it … it’s vintage and looks great man.

Good morning! I concur the dump function is likely to be useful going forward. Steerable wagons are tough to back up, especially if the linkages are a little worn and loose. Anything that is short relative to the length of the tractor is tough to back too, even a rigid trailer. One thing to do - put a foot tall standup about midway down the tongue with a clamp or ram’s horn turn at the top to put your hydraulic hoses through. Some people weld a spring with a clamp on top. Whatever you do, the hoses need to be up off the ground. They’ll wear where they drag, and eventually some stump or root will catch them. Nothing good will come of a hose hanging low. As for dumping - that second load came out just fine. If you use it enough to polish the deck a little, stuff will slide out better too. You can push the pile, but if you wand to do very much, consider using your forks instead of the bucket. At some point, a grapple might be an attractive purchase for limb collection and brush pile ‘management’. Good stuff, Evan!

Another thought, you could stand IN the trailer to get more height for cutting.
