I have heard that many times . When I was younger I used to 💕 love to fly 🕊️ and the only way I knew how to do that was to ride a horse 🐎 at a gallop. It was just so free feeling .I was always happy to get in the saddle so the horse 🐴 was probably happy.

Facts there are a pair of horses I work with, I had a really bad day and was really hurt and distressed before training, one of them was all over me, the other was like "aw hell no, I'm not dealing with you today"

That last part is not always true.

I'm actually just saying what my uncle said while i was growing up. A lot of ppl that are not fully in the the horse community will squeeze their legs because they are holding on and scared and the horse will react to it. (Just like you showed.) So the person is yelling stop or slow down when you are showing them a different signal they may associate with something else. This wasn't meant to teach a horse trainer. It was saying .. hey this is the thing I remember, I was told to be aware of my own actions. 100% of the time...no, a professional will know better of course.

I currently have 2 horses and one of them is completely bitless and I just ride her in her halter because she reacts better to it. I also sometimes ride her bareback but recently I bought her an English saddle with and extra pad for sway back because she’s old. She’s almost 30 but still loves to go for trail rides and has plenty of up and go she’s just getting a little crunchy lol. I want to get my other horse completely bitless too but she’s a handful and I’m still working on her training because her old owners had no idea what they were doing and messed her up in more ways than one.

@@paigek9923 you are correct there. Heavy handedness will soon damage a sensitive mouth. My horse was mouth shy when I got him. You normally end up correcting other people's mistakes. Novice rider's instincts are grip on with their legs for dear life....which is the signal to move for the horse, then they'll hang on the reins so tightly telling the poor animal to stop, this just confuses the hell out of them

There's an older guy that plays the piano to elephants and they start swaying and even have favorite songs. It's really beautiful.

My old mare rubbed her butt on a wooden post & a nail tore a 3 inch gash,not deep, in her rump.. My dad said maybe we should sew it up..(He grew up on a goat farm) I looked at the wound, where it was, & said you do it!!

Sounds like "graveling". Caused by riding them on pavement and running or loping them without shoes in rocky areas. The gravel will work itself up through the hoof to the meat in the cornet and abcess. Then breaks open. Learn how to treat abcesses from your vet or a old cowboy.Take care of your horses hooves and legs. No hoof, no horse!

Still safer than a self driving car. At least the horse knows crashes hurt! ¸ Plus it`s nice riding a horse down a trail and having both hands to take pictures or text on the phone. Much more high tech than a tesla

Got to die somehow, riding someone else’s horse is not like your horse. At the end of the day he is an animals and could hurt me. That being said, we are tight partners and he helps me feed my family every day with his hard work and loyalty. Most people will never experience that.

@@charlesbatton7399 You are right. Used to ride other people horses but when I got mine it was vastly different. I remember at least one time where her being my horse and her knowing me so well saved me from serious injuries.

Some more than others, though, lol. Sometimes I think that horsemanship is just learning all the different ways to say, "Yes, you really do have to do that."

A leader shouldn’t “dominate” that mindset has been proven to be wrong. A leader should be someone the horse looks to for guidance, not someone the horse should be scared of making mistakes around. If your horse is being pushy that’s on YOU not them because YOU have not showed them right from wrong, you just get Pissed at them and expect them to understand. And why is it that you people are so against giving your horse a reward? Why are you so against giving your horse a reason to WANT to do what you ask rather then have them do what you want in fear of your actions.
